If you're looking for classical tango, as per previous reviewer, then look elsewhere now. I was smitten by GotanP after hearing them on a Costes mix. However BajofondoTG are even better IMHO. But whet really got me was when they were scheduled to play live in Brighton earlier this year. However on the night they hadn't arrived by the opening time. An hour later and still no show. Turned out they were delayed at the airport and eventually started a hour and half late. You read lots about groups who's sound has lots of sampling, how they have a 'studio sound', and their live performace are somewhat lacking. Well I thought BTG do have that sort of sound. I love Herb Alpert. The best known stuff on this album are the likes of the superlatively bouncy Spanish Flea, the sublime A Taste of Honey, the energetic Tijuana Taxi, Tetris theme Zorba the Greek and of course the theme to the original Casino Royale (the one with David Niven) which is so clever it hurts. But there's nothing on this album that doesn't delight. Mostly it's instrumental, brass band work and very good brass it is. Like a Mariachi band. It's jolly and fun, and it gets me in a good mood and that makes it pretty fab stuff.

I read some of the reviews, and went ahead and bought the album. Its the best thing I ever did! The C.D. has been played non stop in the car, at work, and at home. Its even playing on my laptop right now, as I am writing this review. Some of the tracks are so upbeat you just can't help dancing to them. The slower tracks are just as brilliant! Haven't a clue what he is singing about (only been learning spanish for a short while), which shows that the music itself is fantastic. I love it! Can you tell?!

Este es el segundo album de mi artista latina favorita; una verdadera joya discografica, donde el talento de esta niña-mujer se funde en melodias de su propia manufactura, ¡¡¡y que melodias!!!, desde puro rock como CIEGA SORDOMUDA, SI TE VAS, preciosas baladas inolvidables como MOSCAS EN LA CASA, TU, SOMBRA DE TI, temas de indole politico como DONDE ESTAN LOS LADRONES, OCTAVO DIA y su incursion en la musica oriental OJOS ASI (cuya version en ingles puede escucharse en LAUNDRY SERVICE), todo el disco rebosa talento Shakireano hasta su maxima expresion; es para mi el segundo mejor despues del Laundry service; si no tienes musica de Shakira, este disco es un muy buen comienzo!!

Another wonderfull DVD of Andrea Bocelli. I have been fortunate to see him perform live and own most of his CD's. The quality of his voice is always outstanding with great music/guests this makes great viewing.

The big difference with this (up until the Kill Bill films) is that some of these songs have been made to order and not a mix of resurrected oldies and forgotten gems that you normally get. The style of this soundtrack is Tex-Mex-flavored blues-rock and includes certain pasages of dialogue from the film. Like most soundtracks that use soundbites, they only work if you know where they come in the film. To the casual listener or someone who has not seen the film, they do not add anything to the experience. This is a minor gripe however. There is some good songs.
