This is a nice, rounded selection of b-side dubs from the Channel One stable; a typically fine piece of archiving from Pressure Sounds. The cd is largely a showcase for Sly Dunbar's 'double-drum' sound, but most will probably buy it due to the presence of one track only, the extremely rare 'Kunte Kinte Version'(even if it is now available as a 7"). It's hard to imagine a better 4 minutes of dub, a Pabloish, "eastern sound" synthesised flute calling ominously out over a militant rockers riddim. It's rare for Dub to meet the dynamics of a perfect pop record so neatly. ...pumping around your legs and feet that is. Like their first album this is a must have for anyone with an interest in funky Balkan Gypsy music fused with Klezmer, HipHop, Dub, Tango, ... In a similar entertaining vein of balkan frenzy I would also recommend Remixed by De Amsterdam Klezmer Band and from Shantel: Disko Partizani, Bucovina Club Vol 1 and Vol 2.

This album is simply amazing. I thought that the main review on here actually seemed to be questioning Anoushka's abilities. Much like her father Ravi, she is very skilled and talented in traditional Indian music, and has a great understanding of what we call Contemporary music. This is what 'Rise' is, it is a beautiful melding of the two styles together, mixing the traditional with the contemporary. All of the songs on here are exemplary in every way. The composition and the performances are better than a lot of modern contemporary artists, who could learn a thing or two about arrangement, performance, and composition from this. This is a Brilliant CD as all Beres's hits are here and more. There are two CD's and I would recommed it to amyone and if you are a Beres Hammond fan like I am you will love it, it's worth every penny.

Jan Garbarek does an amazing job of blending his sax with the classical instrumentation and Khyal style of singing that is performed by Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and Deeyah. Highly recommended.

If you have volume one of this series then you will be tempted to buy volume two. Trojan have really researched well to make this compilation. Buy it if you like the old time styles of reggae!

I've always loved Buju and his music, but when I bought this cd I thought that after all these years he would have to go the way of other recording artistes of using mediocre fillers around two hits to complete the ablum. I was certainly wrong! This is album is amazing!! No track skipping!! I danced, laughed, deejayed with him and just loved it!! Buju is deep into the hardcore dancehall while drawing everyone in with him. Even if you only like toned down reggae music you will love this. AMAZING!!!

This is by far Richie Spice's best album to date and is an absolute must have for any serious reggae fan. His previous three albums are all good in their own right(I have all 3) but as said, THIS IS HIS BEST!!!!
