This album has you in two minds. The first time I listened to it I thought it was o.k but nothing special. But after a few listens, it just gets to you. Its hard to explain but you will like it more on the 2nd or 3rd listen. Some of the beats are crazy and untouchable. R.I.P ODB. WELL WORTH BUYING

This guy is getting props from lots of pseudo-underground hip-hop fans who admire IT's vehement political stance and 'skeletal' production style. Take a step back, though. For someone whose pseudonym apparently boasts of his lyrical prowess, IT's flow is pathetic, and his rhymes sound like bad sixth form poetry. The production is certainly skeletal, but also sounds like it was made on fruity loops in about five minutes. Any idea of subtlety, nuance, or hey, musicality goes out the window to make way for IT's cheap imitation of Chuck D. When there's political hip-hop as tight as the likes of Nephlim Modulation Systems, Black Radical Mk II and Orko the Sycotik Alien, Immortal Technique is the last place you would need to look.

Born again definitely shows Biggie's rhyming skill! And although some may think that the mainstream modern guests ruin the album, i don't! They give a great modern feel to the album! The songs are engaging with some deep thought provoking lyrics, and also some humour from the late great notorious! Highlights are Dead Wrong with Eminem! Big and Em make a formidable duo, and this track is so much better than 'it has been said'! Em spits heat, but i think that Em is, for once killed on a track! Reccomended to any rap fan

Yet another superb collection from the Sessions people. Smooth grooves from Tone Loc, Def Jef and Spoonie Gee mixed with harder numbers from KRS-One, Ultramagnetics etc. An excellent compilation of premier cuts from the Golden Age of Hip Hop. Worth buying alone for JVC Force's Strong Island. When the stores are full of tired Old School compilations do yourself a favour and buy this instead. Great Tunes from back in the day before gangsta came along and made Rap the boring genre it sadly is today.

This is a hip-hop masterpeice by Talib Kweli. He is a master of his craft and has produced a slick and intelligent album. My personal favourite tracks are Love Language & Good Mourning but almost every track is a joy to listen to. If you enjoy genuine hip-hop, get this album. If you are new to hip-hop, get this album. If you enjoy music in all its beautiful forms, get this album.

Love this album. Heard it for the first time when I was 16, I'm 24 now and still love it. It's a huge shame they haven't really done anything together since then but anybody who calls themselves a true hiphop fan and doesn't have this album is not yet bonafide!

Large Professor is hip-hop. This guy has been producing great music for fast approaching 20 years now. And it shows on the album cover. Large Pro is clearly not afraid to show hes been around for a while. He's also not a bad rapper and this, his new joint, is a pretty solid effort to boot. First off, I hate the album title. What does "Main Source" mean? It's been the best part of 15 years or more since the band broke up. The guy should have gotten over it already! He's got more than enough in his locker to build his career irrespective of his past and the title is just a little pointless. So to the important stuff; the music. The album starts off pretty strongly. "Hot, Sizzlin', Scorchin'" is just that; "Maica Livin" uses the old hook ... Read More:

Really, really liking this latest release from Busta, its his most well crafted, well rounded album in the past few years at least. Dont let the second single "Love my Chick" put you off though, that song was cheesy as hell. The rest of the album is much, much better. Also this album has sick beats, and Bustas flow sits perfectly on Dre's productions...

Here we have the definative collection of the best (white) hip-hop band ever and probably in the top 5 of any race along with Wu, Public Enemy and Run DMC. This is what I would say is probably the coolest best-of I've heard in years, that is chock full of songs that you would instanly recognise and some you probably didn't know were by the Beasties'! It starts off with 'So What You Want' a rocky rap tune that is one of my favourate songs by this group that instantly shows them as innovators of the game with no fear as they tear through any beat. The interesting thing I found about this album is you could listen to most of it and not be able to tell when it was recorded because they all still sound fresh as they did when they were first ...
