Very enjoyable except for "Danny Boy" which, with Keating, I thought was dire. The female duetists were an asset.

I'm surprised by the number of reviewers who criticise Katherine because she has not performed in opera and then compare her unfavourably with leading opera singers. Nowhere on this CD (or any of her CDs and DVDs) is she described as an opera singer and her recordings do not claim to be opera. Her recordings do include some arias from opera (though not here) and these are sung very well, but she also includes Welsh songs,(again sadly none on this disc), hyms, songs from musicals and other works. This variety increases that buyers might not like every track. I bought this CD because it contains 'Samcta Maria' set to the music of the Intermezzo from Mascagmi's Cacalleria Rusticana' 'Be Still My Soul' the hymn set to the main theme from Finlandia ... I know Mr Diamond lets do another album together, says Mr Rubin and like the last one strip it back and bore everyone to death. Dull, dull and dull. What are you all talking about i was asleep quicker this time than last time. Even live he tries to liven them up a bit. I have seen Neil Diamond live many times and own all his albums including this one JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL YOU HAVE TOO. Please bring back the old Neil Diamond maybe not the Heartlight one but the Forever in Blue Jeans one would be nice.

I would guess that the Amazon reviewer Warwick Thompson is under 25. Anyway, he writes as if he is, judging by his use of the English language ("think Goldfinger", eeeeeeeeh!). He also believes that L'Homme Armee is 16th century. Oh dear. I find the reviews of the actual buyers much more to the point, wheher positive or negative. Pity that the text of the Amazon reviewer is displayed at the top. OK?

i love the carpenter's ! it's just pure easy listening, calm and classic album ! when u just want to relax in the bath, take 5 mins from a stressed day this is the album you should choose.

You would have to be a heartless moron not to be moved by the wonderful 'Song of Peace'. I had never heard of Will Martin either, until I received an email from amazon as I had bought CD's by similar artists. I was curious enough to listen to the sound bites from the album and bought it on the spot. I will certainly be buying any subsequent ones. No, his voice is not as strong as an older singer with more training, but I hope he never changes his gloriously pure voice by overtraining, which can lead to a loss of identity- too many highly trained singers sound so alike that it is difficult ... soaring, searing, the voices of angels. I just got this one. I know it's been out a while. But i love it. Incredible vocal clarity and clever arrangements. I'm really looking forward to listening to this over the next few weeks whilst my kids are away at school. Perfect!
