172.Ki Oku [VINYL] by: DJ Krush

Music : Ki Oku [VINYL]
My first jazz record, oddly enough. So chilled that it almost regresses into a slow pulse as the album flatlines right before your eyes, the heart no longer beating; Kondo's electronically tweaked, echoed trumpets blazing out midnight melodies over Krushed grooves. It doesn't vary, dart, but I dig the mood of it, and the Bob Marley cover is so amazingly done when you consider the absurdity of the situation. For glistening Tokyo streets.

Kool keith is a founder of the underground hip hop scene and has always been a favourite of mine. However on this album he is suprisingly average, as the review above mentions that he is rapping without no alter ego so this album has no concept behind it, and therefore lacks the atmosphere and feeling of his other albums. However stand out tunes include Operation Extortion and I don't believe you. Fans of Keith will still enjoy this, if your new to Kool Keith check out Dr Octagon or listen to one of the many Ultramagnetic Mcs Albums first. Otherwise Keith is still a innovator offering something that many MCs can't.

I have been a Shadow fan since my life changed due to Entroducing. My whole perspective on music changed and the album seemed like it was made only for my ears. Genius. I have loved everything Josh has done since.
When I heard about the IT&OT dvd, I jumped at the chance of purchasing it and as soon as it turned up on my doorstep, it was wacked straight into my DVD player. The first thing that grabbed me was the backdrop visuals. The camera looking down from space, zooming in on a needle on a record. I am hooked and I can feel the atmosphere in my bedroom!!! The great thing about this DVD is not really the music as I have all of it anyway (and it is absolutely brilliant). It is the fact that you get to see people appreciating it and the ... Read More:
