Anyone who tells you that this is a dry and boring album; don't know what they are talking about, so don't listen to them. This piece of ART: for me, is one of the groundbreaking albums of our time. With the modern style of dub that Krush has managed to capture, sick scratching as always, whilst reserving the right to tranquility and love with the awesome addition of 'The Dawn' put together with the help of that other underated artist: 'Shawn J Period'. This album really has pionereed this hiphop style of music, and especially Krush within the 90's and 00 era.A morbid style remains throughout a number of the tracks, which just adds to the diverse and unique variety of sound to which Krush and Kemuri have adopted for this album.Clean beats,a ... Music : Wanna Buy a Monkey: Mixed By Dan the Automator
I will have to agree and disagree with the previous post. Yes, it is a Mixtape, but about half of these were Automator productions or remixes to begin with. Anyone vaguely familiar with Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, knows that he has been involved in many of these projects. Formed Deltron 3030 with MC "Del tha Funkee Homosapien" and turntablist "Kid Koala"; Started Gorillaz with Blur's "Damon Albarn"; formed Lovage with the demented genius "Mike Patton" and the sexy "Jennifer Charles"...among many other projects that you may or may not be familiar with (but should give a listen to).

Not only is this a melting pot of Hip-Hop/Electronic/Funky/Sci-Fi/Down Tempo/Porn/Psychedelic tunes, but a testimony of his involvements and eclectic ... Read More:

This album is very good indeed with perhaps only one weak track out of a total of seventeen.

Heren has a very distinctive sound and approach to composing beats and this album certainly highlights his capabilities.

Tasteful and enjoyable from start to finish.

Standout tracks include Smile In Your Face, Back In Time, and 7th Message.

This is worth buying even if you've yet to hear any Prefuse 73 - it's definitely one of the better releases in the Experimental/Hip-Hop/Beats genre.

I would not hesitate to say that this is the greatest album of all time. A statement that may seem very extreme, but a view I have a held since purchasing the album some time in 2004 and have established to myself it is not a mere 'whim' appreciation. I was introduced to Prefuse by his first album Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives, which grabbed me as soon as I heard it, but even that album (still a classic in my humble opinion) holds little in comparison to this album. His latest album (which is a few months released as I write this), is also incredible, and different in ways that justify its creation independent of One Word Extinguisher, but this album in particular is special beyond words, even for the GOD that is Prefuse 73. I just can't seem ... Read More:

35.Deltron 3030 by: Deltron 3030

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Deltron 3030
Deltron 3030 brings together the brilliant blend of Dan the Automator's amazing producing, all of Kid Koala's turntable mastery and Del Tha Funky Homosapian rapping on top.

Unfortunately, the vocals are just too overpowering. It's not that Del is a bad rapper, it's just that he raps over EVERY second of every track!! The hip-hop beats, samples and turntablism are not given the opportunity to shine. Consider getting the instrumental version. Or else, if you really love their sound, get both and burn the best tracks from both onto a CD-R.

How often do you find an album in which there are no 'filler' tracks? Answer: very rarely. This is one of those albums.
As someone else said in another review, ignore all of the myths you've heard about drum 'n bass being mindless and for junkies. Amon Tobin is much cleverer than that, and as a result, the album contains a mix of everything. Drum 'n bass with menacing 'melody' lines, jazz which could have come straight out of a 30's jazz club had it not had a heavy, but catchy beat laid down on top of it, and even a bit of bossa nova and other brazilian music styles, hailing back to Tobin's birthplace.
Its getting on for 9 years since this was released, but i'd still listen to it rather than the trash that gets put in the charts today. Another ... Read More:

37.Milight by: DJ Krush

DJ Krush trancscends conventions of trip-hop/hip-hop. His latest album ("Shinso" a.k.a "The Message At The Depth") is the perfect example of this, blending drum 'n' bass, trip-hop, hip-hop and even dub. he continually verges on the commercial while all the while retaining his experimental aura.
there is something about "MiLight" which makes it almost indescribable. it progresses better as an album than any of his others, but it seems to steadfastly refuse to experiment like his others. do not let that put you off. it is pure, unadultereated trip-hop, and it is damn fine. it features Mos Def, arguably the best rapper in the world, and if that doesn't sell you...

Well there are alot of positive things that I can say about this piece of art. I call it art as that is what I believe it is as each song is cleverly crafted and the lyrics compliment the beautiful production. I have only had this album for around a year now and it is still constantly in my system as I find the songs relevent in certain aspect of my daily life. It is spritual, uplifting as well as being an enjoyable listen. Though I do believe this is for certain music heads, I strongly recommend that those interested in hip hop give it a listen

i agree with the previous two reviews.. but would like to add extra depth concerning the RJD2 Remix.. Instrumental version.

its a very simple remix, but works amazingly well without the vox, stands up against anything else.. really, this is awesome.

A sticker on the front of the CD states that its the sound of Radiohead's Kid A and Cypress Hill essentially put into a blender and given a good old whirring.

Obviously they had their head stuck up a dark musty place when coming up with that opinion because it sounds nothing like that at all! I first heard Apt A Part 2 on a Big Dada compilation and knew I had to get it immediately. Almost the sound of Boards Of Canada's Music Has The Right To Children set to surrealist rapping.

The album is pretty similar in mood, the dark grainy samples, eerie synths and the most bizarre occurances you'll ever hear in rap music. Each track can flit between several moods, breaking down into bizarre samples of old 8 bit computer games, crazy percussion, backwards rapping and ... Read More:
