This is an album to have in your collection, especially if you are a LL Cool J fan! As I say in the title this really is a great album, however I have to disagree with the statement of LL Cool J being the 'G.O.A.T' (greatest of all time) because quite simply Tupac, Nas and a couple of others are better! But don't get it twisted I am a LL Cool J fan and in fact i would recommend this album to anyone! Ultimately LL Cool J has now done 12 albums and he hasn't slumped, in fact he's upped his game on this album!

With tracks such as the massive 'Control Myself feat. J-Lo' you can entertain at a party or some lady friends to discuss pleasantries! Otherwise LL Cool J represents on tracks such as 'What you Want feat. Freeway,' which has ... Read More:

Dinco, Milo & Charlie Brown are all great rappers, but you know that you were waiting for the next Busta verse to show up when you put on a Leaders of the New School record. He was just too crazy; slickly demolishing the beats with near O.D.B.-level hip hop heroics. But schooltime is over & L.O.N.S. now only exist in lyrical references and in filler track at the end of this album. So, how does The Coming compare?

Well, it's easy to sit behind a computer & label people as "sell-outs", so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

There's just no way in hell that the Busta Rhymes of 1993 would tolerate the wackness of the hook on 'It's a Party', or the completely generic production that appears on all but a few ... Read More:

174.Who Needs Actions When You Got Words: Parental Advisory by: Plan B

Music : Who Needs Actions When You Got Words: Parental Advisory
Venomous lyrics, menacing bass lines and graphic detail. This album rates as a 'find'. A talent that not only produces and raps, but also numbs your senses with smooth acoustic guitar to soften the composition of the album.

When Plan B is spitting visions of abhorrent acts into your ears over a wonderfully rich backing it is enough to make the hair on your neck stand up, and your blood boil. This is then countered by some smooth and almost sensitive tracks set to acoustic guitar and deep bass lines.

With a clear message of 'up yours' to the US gangster 'I'm hard done to' scene, his lyrics are refreshing and a truly welcome change. If you liked the style of 'More is enough' and his colaborations with Epic Man, then ... Read More:

From back in the days when Grunge was king and Nu Metal had yet to be invented. If you like this, you might like the Spawn soundtrack which is full of similar metal meets trip hop/techno collaborations.

176.Songs About Fucking by: Big Black
October 28, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Songs About Fucking
This is a curious album, almost like an amalgamation of punk, grunge and industrial rock, before either of the last two even existed as a genre. The sound of the album is overpowering, like being hit by a wall of sound. Judging by the lyrics on this album, that was probably intentional. Doris Day this ain't.

With song titles like 'He's A Whore' and 'Pavement Saw', you get the general idea. The concepts thrown about here are generally nasty and nihilistic, but powerfully so. The vocalist almost sounds derranged sometimes, but again, this is quite impressive. There is no real pretension about this band, and although the album has a disturbing sound, it is not done in an attention-seeking, hollow, Marilyn Manson, 'shock-rock' kind of way. It's just ... With all the big artists nowadays, i think Obie Trice's ability to rap is very underestimated. His lyrical ability is undeniable and with Second Round's on me, he comes with a powerful album, with songs for all moods - club and bedroom. This is the album he came back with after he was shot in the head and survived, which he raps about on "Violent".

The stand out tracks for me are: Cry Now, Out of State (Dr Dre beat), Wanna know, There they go (feat. Eminem), All of my Life(feat. Nate Dogg) and Jamaican Girl.

You won't be disappointed with this album, if you like Eminem and D12, this is of similar style only a lot better.
