The album is good, I agree. The songs with 50 cent are very good. What annoys me though, is how many times The Game says "Dre" in The Documentary (37 times!!!). No offence to Dre but I think Game wants to bum him...

This album is, undeniably, a classic. It is my favourite hip-hop album ever. If you're expecting something that sounds up to date, then you'll be disappointed, but who cares - this album was made in 1987 and sounds EXACTLY like it was made in that year. Rakim's lyrics and flow are second to none in my opinion, and from his opening line of "I ain't no joke, I used to let the mic smoke, now I slam it when it's done and make sure it's broke" he rhymes effortlessly through this entire album. In comparison he makes most other MCs sound like they are struggling (the only other MCs who have achieved considerable mainstream success who are up there with him in terms of effortless flow, in my opinion, are Nas and Gza). Eric B's beats - pretty minimal and tidy, are fully ... Read More:

Dr Dre is the best producer and one of the best rappers in the game. his productions are brilliant and his rhymes are top quality, the Chronic shows that. With Nuttin but a g thang he has produced one of the best rap songs ever, and a song that changed the game. He has introduced one of the most famous styles of hip hop with The Chronic, and that is G Funk. Also Deeeez Nuts is hilarious!
I used to think this was over rated, i have come to realize that it certainly isn't! Great beats and great lyrics, as well as great guests! One of the best hip hop albums ever and the best old school album, essential

Pros:
- If you're an IT fan it's a pro that he doesn't change his style of delivery or style of content for this album, more of what you're used to
- So yeah, not many can match the sheer ferocity of IT's delivery, he could probably make a nursery rhyme sound threatening and hard core.
- Some fresh beats, I especially love the grimy mood set by Death March, and the hidden track Rebel Arms at the end.
- Again, no pointless, directionless tracks
- Some more grimy wordplay, funny similes etc.. What you gotta love about IT's style is how he'll make a statement then compare it to somethin that's either a shocking statement in itself to strengthen the original statement or is a hidden diss to the government or somethin:

but then that isn't really saying a lot is it? 50 run out of things to say after 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' so now we have to hear about how he blows his undeserved wealth. Those lamenting the death of hip-hop should dig a little deeper, it's still alive and kicking, just dont expect it from the g-unit camp.

Public Enemy's other Classic album after 1988's It Takes..., an album that transcends it's genre & one of the soundtracks to urban life of the early '90s - Rap fans, Metal fans, all different walks embraced this music, recognising it's aggression & lyrical intensity as a common denominator. A sheer wall of sound, with layers & depths unseen before in the Hip Hop world.
It follows the same blueprint as it's predecessor, but with more of a nod to the 'old' black music; Soul, Blues, Motown in it's rhythms and samples.
It feels like a concept album as the songs & lyrics mesh so well together.
STILL VERY AGGRESSIVE - but not in the oafish style of the 50 Cent's of the world. Lyrics with meaning - before the guns and bling took over.

This really is a great greatest hits album, the old schoolstyle of rapping used here is really effective to the great beats.
Frequent use of the words ' sucker mc' shows the old skool style.
This is better than a lot of the new skool playas and hip hop legends like these will help save the game.
Tracks like public enemy no.1 show chucky d's great style of rapping, and you really have to get this.
