So the last reviewer based his review on listening to one or two tracks down the phone? Hmmm...

This album is superb from start to finish: Jamie's voice is passionate, youthful and earthy and his musicianship unassailable. The little bits of his personality that edge into each song make it highly personal and make you smile.

The songs penned by his brother are particularly good, because of their freshness: 'Twentysomething' is extremely good: just check out the lyrics and you'll realise he's singing about YOU!

Buy it and enjoy!!

Gosh, this took me back to my youth, the age of great and good expectations - the late 1950's and early 60's with their unmistakeable sound and sexy undercurrents.

Excellent recordings, great sound and that velvety sultry voice... Do they still make them like this? Don't know; but this double CD deserves to be in everyone's music library and to be listened to.

This is a great album, my personal Santana favourite. However, there is nothing to suggest on the box that this album has actually been remastered, or that anything has been done to 'buff up' the sound, despite another reviewer's praise for the improved sound quality on this release. Maybe this is just a reissue rather than a remaster. If it were the latter surely that fact would be advertised on the packaging.

This is a good selection from the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. The band contains fabulous players; they are really tight, and the solos are excellent. Not only are most of the songs great, but the band's performance of them is second to none. Great to sing along to, and some of the solos, particularly on the clarinet, have really impressed music students I know.

A couple of my favourite tracks aren't on here, but others of my favourites I've not seen elsewhere. All in all, great value for money, good fun to listen to, and very impressive musically. I'm in my 20s, and this band I love in a way that some other similar stuff I can find a bit dated/boring.

This CD is simply superb. I was a bit concerned about having a clarinet play Zen music, but I needn't have worried. The sound is beautiful. I have been listening to so-called "meditation" music for years, but this is by far the greatest. I find it is not a distraction, like most other music, but is instead calming and stilling. It has inspired me to buy much more of this type of music as it is only now that I realise most of my other so-called "meditation" music was simply not that at all. If you are looking for music to still your mind and create space and beauty, buy this CD. You won't be disappointed.

After hearing the rich variety of musics and experiences in other Sawhney albums, there is nothing here at all. Extremely bland. Even the words don't say anything. The tapestry was so rich before, but this... It's just nothing.

This 1963 album finds Dexter Gordon in sparkling form. He is backed by Bud Powell on Piano, Pierre Michelot bass and Kenny Clarke drums. Its one of the best sessions Gordon ever recorded and is an essential purchase for any Jazz fan.

Dexter Gordon is in fine form throughout the album. Just take the opening Charlie Parker classic 'Scrapple from the Apple'. The theme is stated and Gordon takes the first solo. Three and a half minutes later he finishes. Theres no apparent repetition here, or use of a stock of standard riffs that you might hear with a lesser musician. Throughout this solo he is inventive using the full range of the Saxophones marvellous palette. The other stand-out track on here for me is his version of 'A Night in Tunisia'. Whether he's throwing in ... Read More:

From the first track 'Bruca Manigua' (which you will replay over and over) to the last. This album is simply Unbelievable. I only discovered Buena Vista with the free Movie cd with my Sunday Times a couple of weeks ago and Ibrahim Ferrer is just an undiscovered Legend in my books. Well, up till the last few years of his life. GET THIS!!!

The Ink Spots were one of the most popular vocal groups of the forties. There were no record sales charts in Britain back then so I don't know which of their songs were most popular in the UK, but a look at the American charts shows that this collection omits several big hits. Nevertheless, many others are included and all the tracks here are worth hearing, so I don't mind - this is, after all, a budget collection. The sound quality, while not perfect, is fine given the age of the recordings.

Here you will find the original version of Whispering grass, which became a British number one hit in the seventies when covered by TV actors Windsor Davis and Don Estelle. Another song that got a new lease of life via a cover is My prayer, which the Platters had an international hit ... Read More:
