Octogenarian? Impossible! Tony Bennett teams up with current stars to delight with well-loved standards and a few which were new to me. How many times must he have sung "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" in his career? It must be in the hundreds. Yet it still comes out fresh from the Master. His duet with George Michael on "How Do You Keep the Music Playing?" shows his voice has lost nothing over the years. It brought a tear to my eye. A beautiful album.

Whatever you are into, you've got to get this album. This is a real calm but not overly smoothe piano treat and I can't put it away.

I have racked my brains for some time as to what the finest Sinatra album of them all is. Having listened to all but a few of them I can safely say the job gets more difficult the more you listen to. In my humble opinion I can break down his finest five into this list; "Sinatra and Strings", "September of my Years", "Sinatra and Swingin' Brass", "Moonlight Sinatra" and "Sinatra Sings For Only The Lonely". This is a debateable topic, and if something said to me "No you're wrong. Songs for Swingin' Lovers is the best", I would not argue with them, as each album holds a special place in everyone's heart for personal reasons. However there is no doubt to the musical prowess of this album. I can narrow my greatest album list to Five, but I cannot ... Read More:

Below is the review I recently posted on Amazon.com for the Dave Brubeck Take Five SACD. I really felt I should post the reveiw on Amazon.co.uk also, as there appear to be reviews which relate only to the CD release - same story with US Amazon. Surely there must be others out there that could stand up for this superb SACD album??!! Although I'm not what I consider to be a great fan of jazz, I have enjoyed Dave Brubeck's music for quite some time. For the last two and a half years or so, I have bought almost only high resolution music (DVD-A or SACD), and was determined to buy this disc soon. A good Greatest hits very reasonably priced with lots of the Sisters Decca Hits although could have done with a few rarities thrown in for serious collectors of the Andrews sisters recordings. Quality of the transfers however is very good, if you dont have their greatest hits this is a good start.

pre order this CD now, you will not regret it, forget about the track sampling, it does not do the CD justice, once you hear it on your own home theatre setup with good equipment, you will be blown away, its that good! listening through good quality headphones the binaural sound is even more breathtaking, this really is hearing TATUM in person on a top instrument, in this case the YAMAHA, one can only hope and pray that further TATUM tracks will form another CD release in the near future, I can hardly wait!!

Long overdue release in every sense! Almost legendary unreleased album by sax/flute player from Traffic was in limited circulation among collectors, although never in this quality. Truly great instrumentals and jams reflected Chris Wood's role in the arrangements of Traffic songs. I only wonder how come the collector's version in circulation consisted of four more songs (Song For Pete, Tone Blind - Rhythm Deaf, Jam In Butter and Tragic Magic) plus two more versions of Letter One. Why these tracks were ommited? Nevertheless, don't miss the great legacy of the great musician.
