what can i say about this box set? the king,top dog and uber daddy of psych compilations comes gift wrapped in a lovely box with all the original album cover designs inside,ready to delight and tittilate you. from the opening track on the first cd...atmospheres by the mighty mighty wimple winch,you just know your in for a treat,all the cds have great tunes on them,many have unbelievably fantastic psychedelic monsters on them that will delight your fragile little minds!! take a drink from the magic potion and you will find that strange things are happening!! blow your minds and spend your pennys on this masterpiece..

The track that epitomises this album is track 7 on the Bach disc - the chorale prelude for 'In Dulci Jubilo'. The voices, perfectly in tune (as always) descending in scales beautifully while the tune rots the whole thing down. Just...stunning. The Swingle Singers are probably the best a capella choir in the world and this shows through with the enemble, intonation and unique sound in a class of its own. The range (especcially of the sopranos) is awe-inspiring, and the arrangements are top-notch. Not expensive, and will leave you reeling. There is not much more i can add to the reviews already given. Dont be put off by the fact that these cds are just full of remixes of the same few tracks (the range of styles and mixes is truely amazing). I have been putting of getting this CD for a while now, but bit the bullet today as i love UNKLE and bought it. Rushed home and after one listen wrote my first ever amazon review. This is one of my best buys of the year (only wish i bought it sooner)

This is a truly sumptuous collection of Mozart's Violin Sonatas. Izthak Perlman's control and style on the violin is wonderful with an assured accompaniment by pianist, Daniel Barenboim. This kind of box set collection would appeal to anyone who is interested hearing Mozart's music beyond the ubiquituous Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and such like. It is indeed very typical of the period and for me was particularly of interest as I am a violinist and am currently playing the Allegro from the E Minor Sonata K304 (300cc). So, this recording helped me gain the finest insight into how to project a performance worthy of the piece which is both dark and moving but yet a joy to play. I bought this last year despite owning the original albums and I have to say it was money very well spent. If you are hesitating as I did my advice is just buy it! The sound quality is quite superb, Weller's performances on some of the stuff not previously released are almost faultless - "Stand By Me" is a particular highlight - and this really shows The Jam were so much more than the sum of the parts.

i belatedly decided to buy this after quite some listening to "red carpet massacre"- a utterly up to date album which has prime up to date influences yet in parts reminds me of the old duran duran new wave/electro sounds. lavishly designed artwork, and discs featuring high quality b sides are worthy of ownership. check "like an angel" or "khanada" that could have easily fitted with album tracks from the same period. moreover, the compact feel of this excellent box set raises two fingers to the multitude of pointless remixes that typify many single releases from the late 80s onwards including duran themselves. for the most part the extended versions merely, (and rightly!) expand on the listening pleasure. the virtues of individual members stand out on the ... For anyone who's heard and liked a little of ZZ Top - the Eliminator period especially, but is unfamiliar with most of their other material, then this is for you. If you love rock and blues then this box set can't fail to please. A superb mix of driving beats, slick and dirty guitars, and the magic ingredient - humour. I really love the tongue -in-cheek innuendo of their songs. To be complimented on your guitar playing by the great man himself - Jimi Hendrix - is praise indeed. I now have all four discs on permanent repeat in my car - the perfect driving collection. Give your ears a treat and your car a boost - it will actually go a little faster!!! Well if you are a Slayer fanatic i would say that this is pretty much an essential purchase for you. Slayer are pretty much thrash gods and have reached a really cult status it would seem these days,and i was very pleasd to pick this up, it's not perfect in my eyes butt has great stuff on it for the real slayer fans. you have 4 discs which makes it pretty good value for money in my books,the first 2 being mainly a best of package from all their albums up until this release and their rarer to get hold of stuff like 'in-a-gadda-da-vida' and 'disorder' the cover they did with ice t for an album going way back.
