This four disk boxset came out just before christmas and i couldn't wait for Santa too bring me it,so i just rushed out and bought it myself!The first disk is his 60's material,the second disk is his 70's material,the third disk is his 80's material and the forth disk is the 90's through till now,what more could you ask for?If your a true TJ fan you'll love this even if your not you will be picking songs out saying to yourself "wow tom jones is better than i thougth" it has all his hits,covers of classic's and rare numbers NEVER released on c.d before!So if your looking for hours of great music by a ledgend look no further,im a 19 year old guy and hey i think its brilliant,so go on buy it and see for yourself or in the words of the big man himself ... A further instalment in Decca's re-release of Britten conducting his own work. This box set covers orchestral performances and song cycles and the performances are unique; Britten was the definitive conductor of his own work and one of the best accompanists of all time. The partnership between Britten and Pears in the tenor song cycles is almost psychic but there are good things here from Dietrich Fischer Dieskau too. Amazon offer this 7CD set at exceptional value - I paid about [...] a disc. And - put out the flags - the accompanying booklet contains the words of the songs and translations, unlike the previous volumes in this set.

There may be the individual recording made by others - Gilels, Rubinstein, Arrau - of a particular piece which might be preferred but as a collection of the Brahms piano works, this set has to take the prize. The quality of original recording is high and the digital transfer seemingly well done. One has to listen very attentively to detect which of the four Ballades were recorded monaurally; a strange anachronism in the 'sixties. Also, the piano is an unusually fine-sounding instrument and I wonder if it might not be the Bösendorfer which resided in Decca's Hampstead studios around the time these recordings were made. If the house ever burned down, this would be the one thing that I would rush in to save. Although some of these recordings are nearly 70 years old, the music is timeless. Without doubt, these recordings represent not only the apogee of the Count's recordings but the whole Swing Era. Featuring such legends as Lester Young, Buck Clayton, Sweets Edison and the famous "All American " rythmn section of Basie / Page / Greene / Jones, it is safe to say that there is not a duff track on this 4 CD box set. In addition, there are plenty of recordings by the great Jimmy Rushing - check out "Harvard Blue." What can surely be better than this track ? Although superior transfers may be available and there are some notable omissions (the wonderful version of "Honeysuckle Rose" ... Read More:

The music stations of the game are inclusive but the chat stations aren't! Those are also an important part of the game and especially the soundtrack! I think that's for me and I think many other fans too very important: for example in Vice City, Maurice Chavez with Pressing Issues, could you go without that? I wouldn't.

Just received the trilogy, I still love the films like the first time I watched them, but I am quite disappointed with the quality image. The DVD cases read "digitally restored", so I was hoping for near-perfect quality, however I find it quite poor and grainy, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, I hope I wasn't sold a bad copy! Also, some of the "missing scenes" are out of synch, and although subtitles are a menu option, they don't come up even when turned on.

Three stars only? For the Solti ring? Surely not? Well yes actually. How to explain this? Solti's was the second set I brought - largely because it was so famous that I thought that I simply had to have it. The first set I acquired was a ludicrously cheap version of Furtwangler's set from Turin (with Martha Modl, Ludwig Suthaus, Ferdinand Franz et al). I really didn't know anything about the Ring at the time except a few bits that I'd heard over the years. Having it all meant that I could dip in and out and out and gradually, with the help of the ENO guides, I found my way round these astonishing works. It's very difficult to be objective about Furtwangler. If I had to summarise what is great about him in the Ring it would be that he understands ... Read More:

Fans of the organ or Klaus Wunderlich are in for a real treat with this album. Many classic and well known songs are given the Wunderlich touch, in mistakable. From Status Quo & ELO, right through to ABBA and Bucks Fizz. He manages to make every song a smiling song. Well worth the price.
