Each song is catchy and heart-felt, it'll having loving touching AND squeezing, not to mention rocking. It's a total catalogue of all of Journey's greatest moments, its a perfect album to stick on at a party or after some kind of breakup! Its impressive how it goes from song to song without slowing down a notch. Great album!

This is such an awesome collection! I have more or less every Clash album made, but this 2 disc CD is a great mix of some of their best work, and really represents why they are one of the greatest and most important bands ever formed. The first disc is my personal favourite - opening with the stomping 'White Riot', this CD shows their early work...tracks such as 'Complete Control' and 'London's Burning' have heavy political views, but performed in such a furious rage that demands your attention. This is the band in their youth years - all the tracks are pure punk anthems, which I love! Buying this CD like me, as a reminder of my teenage days, you might now find some of the lyrics primitive and a few tracks outdated in soundscape. However, including Kershaw's debut album Human Racing almost in its entirety and a good half of the second release, The Riddle, this CD is a particularly good option to get also the less known tracks (the contemplative Human Racing or Save the Whale, the futuristic Drum Talk or Dancing Girls that might be difficult to come by on a digital release nowadays. If you like the 80s futu pop stuff, Kershaw Essential is a place to go.

As Music fan I didn't know any Information about Marc Bolan Until 2004 when I've seen him on VH1,I told my Friends who's this artist? where's he from?,if I colud say anything else about T.Rex I'll say they're the most talent band in last Century along with Beatles,this Collection for what you locking for about T.rex.

With a back catalogue the envy of most, a 3CD retrospective was always going to be difficult for Springsteen. Imagine how difficult it would be now though? - there's at least three stone cold classics on 'Devils and Dust' plus several from the Seeger Sessions experience that would all have to somehow fit on any new Springsteen 'essential'. What we do get, however, are some of the finest pieces of music ever committed to record. 'Jungleland', both 'Born...' songs, the thrilling 'Badlands' and the great 'Land of Hope and Dreams' are among the many highlights, while 'None but the brave' demonstrates just how much greater the Born in the USA album could have been (he left 'Frankie, 'My love will not let you down' 'Cynthia', and 'This hard land' off that album, to name but a ... If you are after a collection of the more 'radio friendly' tracks that this consistent trio put out during their early to middle period you can't do better than this and at what a price (less than £3 at time of writing). If you are after a little more, a collection that has all of these tracks plus excellent 'album tracks' as well, go for 'GOLD' a 2cd set which gathers together the truly best from the same period.

For some reason Eels had passed me by, but a week ago I bought Beautiful Freak and was hooked. Taking the advice of reviewers led me to buy this and it is simply excellent. As a newcomer it is a perfect distillation of all that is needed to appreciate this hugely talented and original band. Having become familiar with their backstory I can see clearly how these songs are at times moving, cathartic and downright addictive. As for the DVD that was a pleasant addition and just fits perfectly with the enigmatic image their music portrays. Big fish in a big pond.

The only compilation among a gazillion to span Orbison's Sun, Monument, MGM, and Virgin successes is a welcome add to the Essential series that now, post-merger, features RCA & Arista artists as well as Sony's. Roy Orbison is one of my absolute favorites. He simply may be the best rock 'n' roll singer ever. Amazon UK does well to specify the few re-recorded versions; while the originals should be here, the remakes are a legit part of Mr. Orbison's career. Roy's popularity was at a deeply undeserved lull circa 1987, when David Lynch used some Roy songs in his classic/eerie film "Blue Velvet." As I write this review I read an email which said Bo Diddley had passed away after a long illness. With only 2 Top 40 entries in the U K Diddley sold less than Chuck Berry but was just as influential. He's probably a household name by now and certainly was at the time of the Stones and Yardbirds.And not forgetting the Pretty Things whose name came from a Bo song. Essential though to Bo Diddley achieving any sort of fame were whites-that is even before the Stones there was Buddy Holly. His music remained in the same turf-there was no attempts to launch himself as a soul singer. The music's always going to be there

R Dean Taylor was a country music artist in Canada in the late 50s and his single of At the High School Dance has been included on one of the Early Canadian Rockers CDs. By 1964 he cut a Beatles novelty called Ladybug stay away from that Beatle which Motown never released but its available on one of the Shabby Road series of Beatles Novelties Recording for Motown where he had a number of hit singles which reached a peak in 1972 with Indiana wants me only ended when its Rare Earth sub folded.
