It offends me that I have to give even one star. This apalling cd is MF as she is today. She can hardly talk, never mind sing. Some things, like old girlfriends, are best remembered as they were. This is certainly the case in Marianne Faithfull's music. I have already thrown this cd away in disgust.

This compilation provides a generous selection of songs from the latter half of Marc Bolan's career. It does not include any material from the several albums released in the late sixties, early seventies under the name Tyrannosaurus Rex, which are more psychedelic folk, influenced by Donovan. Then Bolan realized that Donovan wasn't cool anymore and changed to T.Rex and to an electric rockier sound and spent a year and a half or so as the biggest act in Britain. The earlier hits from this period are NOT included here: that is, no Get it on, Hot Love, Jeepster or their breakthrough hit, the insanely infectious Ride a White Swan. Cosmic Dancer is also missing. its a refreshing change 2 hear music that isnt whining on about how they have got no friends and they h8 themselves.instead its an aural assault on any gangster and how you dont want2mess with them.loose kicks off the album and it sets the tone, with the duo vocals(rapping and screaming).this is one of the best rap metal albums i own.

VDGG do not conform to the typical '70's prog rock formula. Thats why their music works so well. They are completley original and although their music is not immediate when it does grow on you, you'll never look back! This is a good album to start with if you have never heard any of their others. There is a broad cross section of tunes on this album that covers their erratic stop/start career from 1970 - 1977 ish. Witness the unique power of Hammil's voice and the crushing and stirring Hammond organs and the refreshing lack of lead guitar heroics! There is'nt a duff track on here but the best have to be 'Killer' 'Sleepwalkers' 'Man-ERG' and 'Still life' Moving and powerfull stuff which sadly never really made a huge commercial dent on the UK or US markets.
