10CC were huge in the mid to late 70's. Much like contemporaries ELO they were often overlooked by the more hybrow critics and dismissed as merely Beatles wannabe's. Whilst the Beatle comparisons cannot be denied messers, Godley, Creme, Gouldman and Stewart were an entirely more exciting prospect than Jeff Lynne's mob. Lyrically erudite, musically inventive and all four band members possesed of great voices, 10cc peddled harmony drenched, hugely inventive powerpop and retro rock. At their best they were sublime - 'I'm Mandy, Fly Me', 'Life Is A Minestroni' and 'Rubber Bullets'. Oh dear oh dear . Despite all Georgee does to make himself a total laughing stock , out the good folk of this world dash to get another slab of his genius in concert or on CD's such as this . Honestly people , you can do better . Not one of these dirges sticks in the mind long enough to be forgettable , they just drift through the mind with the impact of a car insurance advert , but at least you need to have car insurance . Take it from me you really don't have to listen to George . Your ears not were designed to be used so badly .

buy it. its a great cd.... if you like soft cell but dont have all their cds this is a great addition to your cd collection. again, buy it. tell you what, why dont you buy it?

As a seasoned (60 year old) musicologist I can honestly say that Anastacia is just amazing. Such power, beautifully controlled and with a depth that is so often missing in current chart artists. I can listen to her all day and then some - and I am sooo hard to please, believe me!! Very few artists have the widespread appeal that thsi lady does. This selection has something for everyone, its definitely one that I will listen to over and over. Jump in and have some fun!!

I watched this dvd over the weekend, and was a little dissapointed. I have to agree with some of the points by another review by Stilts. I just wish Avril drops this whole pink bubblegum look, and go back to what made her famous in the first place. I just cannot help but wonder who she really wants to be. The punk/rock chick we all fell in love with back with her first album, or a pink teen pop princess. If you are the latter, you would love this dvd. Don't get me wrong, she still rocks! and I still like her, I am just not one for this whole pink pop thing. For one thing - she lost her male audience. Clearly seen in this dvd. I had the pleasure of seeing Neil Young live in Kent last weekend. It was great to see he is still on tremendous form after all these years. With a catalogue of about thirty albums it is difficult for newcomers to his work to know where to start their collection, but this compilation covers a lot of his best known music. In fact according to the man himself it was compiled according to sales of the songs, airplay and known download history which gives the track selection credibility. The truth is, all of The Door's albums are worth owning and because each album was so different in style, it is important to purchase each one seperately to understand the true artistic diversity of the band. However in terms of packaging and tracklisting, this is the best compilation ever. The 40th anniversary remixes have noticible clarity over the previous CD releases, although it is disc 2 that sees some of the most noticable improvements. Love her madly and hello I love you are subtly different as are riders on on the storm and others although it is these former two that are superior through enchancement. Def Leppard outsold many band of the 1980s, and this compliation of their best hits proves why. Hits from the early years of recording, like "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" are within the compilation, and are complimented with the hits from their biggest selling album, "Hysteria", like "Animal", and "Rocket". Included also are some songs from their albums in the mid 1990s, like "When Love And Hate Collide", which scored highly in the UK charts. Of course, their biggest hit, "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is the first track, so that will definately get any listener going. The band itself produces absolutely brilliant music, and this album clarifies the imapct Def Leppard had on the music world. I would also call this a masterpiece.

Im only 18 and i think that teenagers get a bad rep,yes i love hip hop and yes sometimes i might were a hoody,but i aint gonna hert anyone,and i can apreciate good deep music like this,classic music for any mood.

You can't go wrong with Bruce Springsteen's entire catalogue, and seeing as how most are on a very low price you could pick them at random and still have a lot of nice surprises (but maybe not the Lucky Town era). This compilation is an interesting mix of tracks, but it barely scratches the surface particularly of the pre Born In The USA time and centres too much on the ones since then. There's practically nothing from Greetings, The Wild, Nebraska and Darkness, the huge amount of live tracks are also overlooked, so I think this is aimed more at the very casual listener who isn't concerned what great album tracks they're missing.
