I was never a Roxy fan,I was only a kid during the 70`s and only knew of them because my oldest sister was in love with Ferry,I heard some of the early Roxy songs and never thought about them much until I started getting into music myself at the start of the 80`s and remembered hearing Avalon,More Than This and Same Old Scene on the radio very often. The surprising thing to me on this collection of songs is just how good and how many hits Roxy had,the only thing that drops a star for me is that the early stuff is harder for me to like but hey I`m an 80`s child. For me this record has done what it was intended to,it`s made me want to go out and buy the other Roxy albums.

I think the last reviewer (Dr Powell) bought the wrong album (Il Divo are on the live album sir!.. ah bless) A superb collection of her finest songs.

So glad I bought this, its been in the car on almost all the time for the last few months... I wasnt keen on her last album, bit shouty & angry, but after reading some reviews on this one, and because its a pink cover (looked happier than the last album), i got it. THANK GOODNESS, its brill, love it all so much. Looking forward to the next one now....

When I saw Billy Bragg on tour recently he described himself as a 'Marmite artist', ie, you either love him or hate him. I don't know that is necessarily true. My husband somewhat reluctantly bought this for me for Christmas a few years ago after I'd requested it on the strength of the handful of Bragg songs that I knew from my teens (Sexuality, New England, Waiting for the Great Leap Forward). Neither myself or my hubby really knew enough about BB from those few songs to understand what an amazing artist he really is. I reckon that there are a few people out there who are in that same position and this review, like the album, is for you. Don't get me wrong, these are great songs, but this time around they've been ruined by dreadful remastering. We didn't need another Smiths compilation anyway....of the existing ones, Louder Than Than Bombs has the most enduring track selection.

I consider myself a music fan, and I have wide and varied tastes. One look through P.Jones reviews will bear out that unless you like his/her particular brand of music you are not considered a music fan. Total nonsense. Music, like beauty, is in the "ear" of the beholder: Shame on you for being so closed-minded. I have several Shania Twain albums and a couple of DVDs and I'm not ashamed to say I've been to see her twice, and ALL of my encounters with her and her music have been uplifting. If you like up-beat, fun music - some with a deeper story to tell - you will enjoy this album. If you like Shania's silky, effortless voice, you will enjoy this album. And thats a promise.

As the title of the review says, if you dont have many stranglers albums in your collection buy this now, i have been a fan for 25 years so i know,and have many versions of all the songs on this album. However if you are thinking of buying a gift for christmas , the recipient will love this album , and why not buy the stranglers latest album SUITE XVI, a true return to form to please any fan that has an interest in probably one of the best bands to come out of the uk. You gotta admit that this is the business when a quintet of South Londoners ignored the whole punk thing and got down to making music in the style of the 60s and 70s.Especially the 70s when Wings ruled. They said Difford & Tilbrook were the new Lennon & McCartney-thats the bands built in songwriting unit but though many times they were as good there were no takers for their songs other than their own original versions. Maybe Squeeze should do a covers album as Difford & Tilbrook make their own albums either solo or collectively. Maybe somebody should do a tribute album-with so much variety the songs could easily be done 50s style. As it stands Squeeze never had a No 1 hit and not much of an American career so they are bound to live on ... Read More:

Although the band still manage to create great songs and sounds it was during the 1980s that they arguably produced some of their best work and indeed, created some of the songs of all time which made the band the worldwide phenomenon they are today. Songs like Pride, With or with out you, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and Where the streets have no name are now iconic and serve to represent what was a golden era for U2 and the music world in general. Even if your not bothered about the B sides this compilation is simply brilliant and well worth owning. For me it should be in any music lovers collection.
