You've probably dismissed Diamond as music your mum listens to. You're wrong to think this because you'll be missing some great pompous rock songs. Some of it's cheesy, but a lot of what is on this best of is genuinely good stuff. His name looks like an anomaly on my MP3 player's artist list. The thing is, I'm not ashamed as I love these big over the top (orchestra included on everything) songs. And you don't have to worry about good taste getting in the way of your listening experience. Some of these songs even rock in their own way. Though it's best to skip the Streisand duet. And Brooklyn Road and Morningside don't stand up after a few listens. Otherwise it's great. Ok Robbie's had some great singles & big hits,but lets get to the point.South of the Border was one of the most underated singles of his Career.I Like most of Robbie's stuff,even Intensive Care & Rudebox grew on me,but why miss out the hits,i.e not making it a proper greatest hits from that era.(It's like Kylie's ultimate missing out the gem that was "some kind of bliss" If the record company make an updated greatest hits like other bands used to such as The Beautiful South,etc then please include this,as we are all sick of the predictable "angels" & "Let me entertain you" now.Sort it out peeps.

I must say i did not expect much when i decided to buy this album. I knew some of the songs (dreams, linger, zombie) from a few years ago, but I never realised the Cranberries had such a collection of great songs. The only misgivings I have are in relation to the lyrics, which sometimes can be a bit weak. If you want an album thats full of melody and has great vocals and understated guitar playing than this is the album to buy.

I must admit, I'm not exactly a fan or Tom Jones, but my sister already has this album and when I listened to it I just had to buy it. The man has an awesome voice and every track on this album is totally different. A good one to add to your collection!

Like many of the reviewers I spent part of my childhood with my mum and step dad playing Crowded House every other hour. At the time I was far to obsessed with keeping my attempted image to want anything to do with what my mum liked. Now over ten years on I noticed this CD for cheap on Amazon and recalled some of the songs in my head which was just enough to tempt me into a purchase. I am glad I did. I can honestly say that of all my music as an overall album this greatest hits has to be one of the best CD's I own. This is one of the few CD's where I can put it on and have the certainty that every song I hear will excel. If you like me ignored this band in the 90's due to being too young to appreciate the music you should definitely look into buying ... Read More:

this was a big favourite of mine, growing up in the 80's and early 90's. this album is by far the best reggae collection of ub40's. i also bought the ub40 dvd which has a few others which do not feature on the collection. if you want relaxing, soul trippin music this summer, then i suggest this album. totally superb. this is a must for anyone who not only likes ub40 but enjoyed the 80's and its music.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my feelings not only about this album but also about the Human League who are one of my favourite bands and an inspiration, not only for their music but their togetherness as a band. Firstly, the Greatest Hits album. The only track I'm not too keen on is the remix of 'Don't You Want Me' at the end, which I find a bit tacky (couldn't Virgin have put 'Heart Like A Wheel' on instead?). The other tracks on the album are of at least a good standard, with my favourites being 'Love Is All That Matters', 'Together In Electric Dreams', 'Human', 'Mirror Man' and 'Tell Me When' which was the song that introduced me to the band. i bought this album for the brilliant babylon track. so what do i find? not the single version but a weaker remixed version without the full backing. POOR! VERY DISAPPOINTING!

The Album Is Brilliant, no question But if you are buying this album to put on your ipod prepare to be disapointed. Running a computer with only a DVD player the CD does not react to windows media player or Itunes as a music CD and insistes on only providing the DVD content. It is impossable for me therefor to get at a product i have paid for with good money. Highly annoying.
