Although these guys could never maintain a high level throughout each of their albums like skynyrd did, and as such never made a huge comercial impact, they are truly a great band to listen to - their style of music seems to be both fun in places and dark in others. In terms of southern rock, molly hatchet are certainly heavier than people like alman brothers or skynyrd, and actually i think this makes them really interesting. as for the cd, i have no quibbles with the casing, leaftlet thing etc, all is of good quality, and the music itself is great. Highlights for me include Gator Country, Flirtin' with disaster, Bloody Reunion, Boogie no more and the creeper, with 'Gator...' and '...Creeper' being probably my personal ... Read More:

This is one of the worst "Greatest Hits" albums Whitesnake have put out. Why ? It's because so many classic Whitesnake songs are missing on here. Where is the live favourite "Aint No Love In The Heart Of The City" ?. "Dont Break My Heart Again" ? "Ready An Willing" ?. The album does not feature enough of Whitesnakes early work and features too much of latter 80's albums 1987, and Slip Of The Tongue. If you are looking a introduction to Whitesnake buy "The Best of Whitesnake" instead. Dont waste money on this poor effort.

So, what are you wanting from a Quo compilation? With this and the other 2 volumes you get what(ever) you want (sorry . . .) plus a little bit extra. The hits are here, but you also get some good album material. One thing, you have to expect a difference in styles (if that is the right word!) as the material is taken from a broad time-frame. So you get stuff llike 'Rockin' . . .' & 'Down Down' etc, but you also get 'Night Ride', 'Mad About The Boy', 'Overdose' & 'Going Down For The First Time' all on the same disc(!) If you want a fuller picture buy all three. At this price you could do worse if you want the hits plus some not so well known stuff to boogie to.

I have just purchased megadeths greatest hits from amazon and what a collection of total masterpieces they are. I have listened to megadeth for about fifteen or so years and have heard every song over and over but despite that this collection is proof that theyre music stands the test of time. Most of the songs have been remastered and the clarity and punch of every beat hits you in the face when turned up. The best thing about this compilation is that every song one after the other are good and work well until the end, not like some comps you get when half the songs tend to be skipped, you can leave it to play and its cool. so from a total fan from me to you" BUY BUY BUY IT "

Every now and then the charts need a great big kick up the proverbial arse'. The only people that seem to buy singles anymore, at least in the UK, are small children, usually young girls, hence Westlife being there none stop. These modern days are once again predictable and boring. Which is why I wish someone would come along and do a 'Reef'. What I mean by this is how their first really big hit 'Place Your Hands', wreaked havoc in the charts and tore pop music apart for a few weeks. In its own respect it does have a pop aspect, but the sheer brilliance, thrill factor, smileability and scream-along choruses make this rock. Donovan is clearly one of those artists where you can pick up the Greatest Hits collection and not have to worry about getting all the albums. The thing is the man had some great songs, regardless of whether they got high enough on the billboard charts to count as bona fide "hits." The great thing about Donovan is that you can get a bunch of people in a room, listen to his album, and then argue over what are his two best songs. You put "Hurdy-Gurdy Man," "Sunshine Superman," "Mellow Yellow," "Season of the Witch," and "Jennifer Juniper" on the short list and have everybody choose their two favorites. This is the without a shadow of a doubt The number of the great rock feast. I defy anyone to play this album without a scowl and a growl and an itch to raise mayhem. Playing this album leaves me feeling invincible and starts the kids skidding round on the wooden floor playing air guitar as though their lives depended upon it. I spent a great deal of time with this band on the road and at shows taking photographs almost from their beginnings touring in Europe and the UK so I think I am in a reasonable position to say a few things and correct a few of other people's comments. Firstly they had a PLATINUM hit with Once Bitten Twice Shy it was a huge success for them and not a "claim" its a fact!. Secondly they are an EXCELLENT band whether live or on record and Mark Kendall is a superb guitarist well up with the Eddie Van Halens and Richie Sambouras. The rest of the band members consisted of Michael Lardie, Audie Desbrow, Jack Russell and for a long time Tony Montana though he has been left now for a number of yeaers. Wasted Rock Ranger was only ever on a limited edition double CD of Twice ... Read More:
