As this is a greatest hits album I knew what I was getting before I bought it so obviously there was no disappointment there. The songs that are on it are great, some of my favourites. But personally there are so many more songs that I would have liked to be on there. I don't know if the answer is a double album or replacing some of the songs on this album. It's still a good album though.

As an absolute Free fanatic, even though ive got all the tracks on this, I bought this and cant believe how Bob Clearmountain has messed up some of the most beautiful songs ever written with his ham fisted remixing.The beauty of Free was the simplicity, the soul and fire shone through, by all means clean up original tapes of hisses and pops but this is vandalism and all concerned Clearmountain,record company etc should be ashamed stick to the Free Story or the superb(if your budget allows)Songs Of Yesterday.

There is a wealth of quality material here and it isn't a hotchpotch of genres which means the album doesn't lose a listener's interest every other song - they're all good songs, surprisingly so, and they appeal to lovers of rock ballads, 80's rock and quality MOR. I'm into heavy rock, blues and some metal but I still have my quieter moments and this boxset is absolutely worth the money, no question. Cheesy title, yes, but just look at the contents! For once one of these 'greatest album in the world ever'-type compilations comes up trumps. Full-length album version of Bat Out Of Hell too, not the single edit!

I think that ZZ Top are a very good band and they remain one of my favorite bands of all-time. this is one great collection and they made great blues music in the 1970s and the 1980s. here are my comments about most of the songs. GIMME ALL YOUR LOVING this is a really great song and is my 2nd favorite song on the entire cd. SHARP DRESSED MAN this is pretty great too, but probably my 5th favorite. ROUGH BOY is a ballad that is too slow and too sad for me. TUSH is an excellent blues rocker remains one of my 5 favorites on this album. MY HEAD'S IN MISSISSPII is a blues rocker one of my favorites, PEARL NECKLACE not my fave, IM BAD IM NATHIONWIDE this is pretty good although remains as a 10th favorite or something. If, like me, you have this band's back catalogue already then there isn't any point in this (especially if you have a CD burner!) as it offers no new material and is simply a nicely packaged compilation! HOWEVER, I have a mate at work, a couple of years younger than myself, who after several years in the wilderness (marriage, mortgage etc) has returned to the metal fold, and absoluteley LOVES this CD! It's a really good starting block or as a refresher! I can endorse the 5 stars, as the material here is taken from what were by far the best years of Maiden's career - they still make some decent music today but there is less fire in the belly, now they are the wrong side of 50. This contains an amazing collection of songs, very listenable. Lou Gramm's voice is always so distinctive. I liked the addition of three new songs, which fit in well with the older ones.

I heard Bad to the Bone on the radio whilst driving in USA and just had to buy some George Thorogood. Hearing the song again for the first time years reminded me of George's fantastic set during Live Aid in 1986. When I put it on in the car I just wondered how I had got by all these years without owning this masterpiece. It's a great mix of rock a blues, like ZZTop with attitude! Buy it, enjoy it and play it loud!

This CD, whilst a great compilation of Lynyrd Skynyrd's most noted songs, appears to have a manufacturing/recording flaw in it. I have tried a couple of copies of this CD, and both have had the same flaw in it, so it appears every copy has it. In the last 30 seconds of the song "Simple Man", one of Skynyrd's finest in my opinion, the sound suddenly goes strange for about 2 seconds before returning to normal. It's not a jump in the CD, the sound quality just goes strange, and strange is the only word to describe it. As I mentioned, I have purchased more than one copy of this CD as I presumed this flaw would not be in all the copies, but it has been there in all the copies I've purchased, and I've had to return them all. wow this is a great compilation. i like most of these songs. can't get enough is my favorite. i also like electricland, title song, moving on, run with the pack and rock n roll fantasy too, those are really great songs. i highly recomend this compilation for people that like good music.

OK, the packaging looks cheap (almost photocopied) and there was room for at least one more single on disc 1 (Androgony maybe, to address the selection balance a bit), but overall this is great collection of songs that generally work well together. There are highs and lows ofcourse, but this represents the variation of material across their 4 creative albums.Sound is excellent throughout, so well worth buying. The bonus new single "Hurts" is ok, but slightly over-polished, particularly after the rougher edged material from Bleed Like Me. The remix disc is listenable but as usual they don't gel very well as an album, even though each song only appears once.
