This CD, whilst a great compilation of Lynyrd Skynyrd's most noted songs, appears to have a manufacturing/recording flaw in it. I have tried a couple of copies of this CD, and both have had the same flaw in it, so it appears every copy has it. In the last 30 seconds of the song "Simple Man", one of Skynyrd's finest in my opinion, the sound suddenly goes strange for about 2 seconds before returning to normal. It's not a jump in the CD, the sound quality just goes strange, and strange is the only word to describe it. As I mentioned, I have purchased more than one copy of this CD as I presumed this flaw would not be in all the copies, but it has been there in all the copies I've purchased, and I've had to return them all. wow this is a great compilation. i like most of these songs. can't get enough is my favorite. i also like electricland, title song, moving on, run with the pack and rock n roll fantasy too, those are really great songs. i highly recomend this compilation for people that like good music.

OK, the packaging looks cheap (almost photocopied) and there was room for at least one more single on disc 1 (Androgony maybe, to address the selection balance a bit), but overall this is great collection of songs that generally work well together. There are highs and lows ofcourse, but this represents the variation of material across their 4 creative albums.Sound is excellent throughout, so well worth buying. The bonus new single "Hurts" is ok, but slightly over-polished, particularly after the rougher edged material from Bleed Like Me. The remix disc is listenable but as usual they don't gel very well as an album, even though each song only appears once. I bought this on tape when it first came out, then gave it away. If you like rock, want ot hear KISS's hits, how the were recorded, buy Double Platinum, and then just buy Creatures of the Night, Lick it Up, Asylum, Crazy Nights, Revenge, Psycho Circus, and then Carnical of Souls. And Guys, I I have them all, been to see them 6 times, will try and get to Download (was at the front last time at Donnington), and must advise you all to get out there and see "The Hottest Bad in the World, KISS" live and in the (probably decaying) flesh! Also Alive, Alive II, Alive III, and Alive IV are very much worth buying...

I had never been a fan of Marilyn Manson and have always been dubious of 'greatest hits' albums, but when I bought this album - it changed my perception of both. Mr Manson's rasping voice goes down extremely well with the heavy rock music. The collection of songs on the album have been well chosen and do just justice to his career to date. I have had this album in my car for the last 3 years and it is not likely to leave there any time soon. This is a definite one to purchase.

Before buying this album, I was familiar with the 'big' songs from it, however after a few listens i have come to appreciate the true raw talent behind it; suffice to say im very happy with the purchase!! the case was delivered with a crack however, which is not the first time from Amazon to me.

This is such an awesome collection! I have more or less every Clash album made, but this 2 disc CD is a great mix of some of their best work, and really represents why they are one of the greatest and most important bands ever formed. The first disc is my personal favourite - opening with the stomping 'White Riot', this CD shows their early work...tracks such as 'Complete Control' and 'London's Burning' have heavy political views, but performed in such a furious rage that demands your attention. This is the band in their youth years - all the tracks are pure punk anthems, which I love! a great selection of songs by a great band, buy this along with the 1994 greatest hits and the 2004 early years compilation then you would truly have the very best of whitesnake!

The Very Best Of Rainbow covers the whole spectrum of the group between 1975 - 1983 on one disk. It kicks of with 7 tracks fron the Ronnie James Dio period between the 3 albums, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Rainbow Rising & Long Live Rock 'N' Roll. Ronnie James Dio leaves for Black Sabbath and he his replaced by Graham Bonnet only on one album Down To Earth, 2 tracks are lifted from the album, he is then replaced by Joe Lynn Turner who covers the last 3 Rainbow albums Difficult To Cure, Straight Between The Eyes and Bent Out Of Shape, 7 tracks are drawn between the last three. Overall the Dio period is the best, there are some OK highlights from the post Dio period hence the 4 stars. even though it was stated as new release for 2008 Deep Purple's best of is merely the same compilation that was released ten years ago as i came across it in co-op so don't be fooled by the release date as there is nothing new on this dissappointing best of.
