Great as the mighty Thin Lizzy are, this band pre-date them by a few years and are critical in moving the artform forward with their stunning songs, harmonies, and guitar riffs/breaks. Andy Powell's and Ted Turner's dual guitar is some of the most incredible twin guitar playing you are ever likely to hear, and still sounds as good as ever. Their blues tinged folky style is unique, and their astonishingly fast and clean solos make them a must, not only for guitar fans, but for anyone with an appreciation of great songwriting and musicianship. Underpinned by the steady rock drumming of Steve Upton and the quick fingered bass playing of Martin Turner, this is brilliantly inventive classic rock.

Micheal Schenker may have been known for his off field problems citing problems getting along with members of UFO and issues with alcohol but this 16 track collection which displays some of his finest moments made via his fretboard and the vocals of Gary Barden which shows on tracks like "Armed And Ready" with its amusing lyric "Is it hard enough, is it long enough?" coupled with the mad axemans guitar work which carries on in good form on"Cry For The Nations" and "Are you ready to rock".

Graham Bonnet formerly of Rainbow does not seem to be remembered fondly being the replacement for Gary Barden since his short spell as a member of MSG was cut short after a fallout with mickey but his vocals on the commerically friendly Rainbow songs ... Read More:

This is a fantastic way to discover Mountain. Almost all of the classic tracks are here the only exception being the live versions which are superior in many case's. Mountain had a very large reputation as hard rock pioneers and this is truly deserved. Les West is a fantastic guitarist with a soulful voice. Felix is one of the top ten bass guitarist of his generation almost as skilled as Jack Bruce and as consistent a writer. Corky Lang is a Canadian Ginger Baker and Knight certainly tickles the ivories with skill and passion. This compilation brings together most of the best cuts from the bands studio albums and is remarkable value for money. Mountain are often compered with Cream, however Cream had aspirations to become pop stars and wrote some very ... Read More:

I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect after reading some of the reviews above. Yeah, its not super digitally remastered quality but I'm happy about that as its early stuff from nigh on 20 years ago. If I'd been lucky enough to be there then this is how it would have sounded. Its great to hear how the sound evolved through the years, it also shows that great music doesn't have to be *perfect* it just has to have feeling and hit the spot. Girls Aloud and all that manufactured shite is clearly produced and refined to a far greater degree but you just know that the artists are just going through the motions. To be honest even if it had turned out to be total crap I'd not have cared, I've had many a ropey pint and they all cost more than £2 these days anyway. ... Read More:

Having seen these boy sback in the hey days first with Bon Jovi and then with Little Angels in Bradford. I started streaming radio stations and caught a few of the old tracks and decided that rather thna replace my old vinyls I would just buy this album. My music tastes have since grown, and although having recently hit 40 I love Metallica, SOAD, Blink 182 etc. The biggest thing that i find with Cinderella is that although big hair, make up and spandex was the "norm" they actually rocked and the bluesy feeling is great.

Some people, including Seeger himself, claim that Seeger never had any hits. Where Have All The Flowers gone was a hit for Peter, Paul And Mary, Turn Turn Turn was a hit for The Byrds and Wimoweh was a hit for The Weavers.

Pete Seeger got a single in the top ten chart only one time. That song was Little Boxes which is the opening number for this collection.

Maybe these songs never were 'hits' but they are a fine collection of folk songs, old and new. This album was originally published in the late sixties and the CD version has a couple of extra tracks.

But I still recommend that you start your Pete Seeger collection somewhere else. American Favorite Ballads 1-4 are fine collections of old American folk music. Anyone of them is more interesting ... Read More:

Indeed, look at all those peaches. Each and every one is oozing precious juice that will slake your thirst for fine and innovative rock fruit.

There's a couple ("Something Better Change" and "All Day & All of the Night") that are not as ripe as the others, but the rest are firm and brightly coloured with brilliant hooks, imaginative arrangements, and marvellous lyrics. Make sure that you choose the most tasty peach of all, by lucky chance called "Always The Sun".

Tracks one to seven cover the EMI/United Artists years, whilst the remainder cover the band's move to Epic.

I bought this album off amazon thanks to the 5 star rating it had. the song "every rose has its thorn" has been one of my all time favourite songs for many years. i hadnt herd much else from poison other than unskinny bop which i also thought was very good.

Needless to say, i was not disappointed- the album is very good. its not, however, very experimental, and most tracks are very similar- still though it deserves no less than 4 stars and a pat on the back for bret and CC, who is a pretty good little guitar player. he doesnt quite have the passion or glory that players like brian may or tony iommi or even richie sambora have wen they solo, but he can certainly hit you with a world class riff or too.
