Well Usually i dont like a band or album because of the vocals, but i dont have that problem with this album cause it's just instrumental awesome rock. This album is filled with great solos and songs. No filler just all killer. If you like rock music and you're curious about this just buy it.

Neil Young for me has to reign alongside the master music makers of this century or any other, his distinct vocal voice sets him apart from just about anyone. The weld album taken from the live concert is an utterly superb album that features some very powerful songs that have made Neil young the performer he is. Dylans blowing in the wind has got to be just about the best version I have ever heard of this song. Rockin in the free world, well a classic song that still sends shivers up my spine. Weld is a true music lovers album, full of power and sentiment, in my humble opinion, one of the best live albums ever made. Neil young, well, a master musician and a master song writer. brilliant stuff.

As far as I'm concerned, other than 'Brown Sugar,' you may as well throw the second disc away, or use it to keep your mug of tea on. But... the first disc is so astoundingly, damned good, that you really don't care!

For years this album has been highly placed in the "best live rock albums ever" stakes. I 've read glowing reviews of how fantastic it is. I'd heard two songs from it "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Show Me The Way." I'd thought that they weren't exactly rock and indeed theuy were usually played on easy listening stations. So I took the plunge and bought it. What a let down. I can't even begin to fathom how such lightweight, overdubbed, easy listening rubbish has wormed it's way into the "great live albums". Doobie Wah, Wind Of Change, Penny For Your Thoughts etc wouldn't be out of place on Terry Wogan's morning radio show on Radio 2. I'm not denying Frampton is a good guitar player, but don't assault your ears with this pap, you'd be far better off with Humble ... Read More:

I have a few of Eric Clapton's albums plus a few he's recorded in other bands and 'Slowhand' typifies how frustrating he is. Rightly regarded as one of the greatest rock guitarists, he never seems to produce an album about which you can say, 'That's the one.' Instead, what you get are a handful of brilliant gems and an equal measure of forgettable, if competent, workouts. The three heavyweight tracks appear at the front of the album. 'Cocaine' has never been one of my favourite songs, but he does deliver it with impressive force. 'Wonderful Tonight' worked its way into the public consciousness over many years and is the kind of tender song that's difficult to pull off without sounding watery. To set the cat amongst the pigeons here a little, I will have to disagree with those who view Cream and this album as a kind of holy grail of rock. This album suffers from that 60s disease known as selective memory, a disease which with one hand inflates the value and worth of anything that was produced during the years 1966 - 69 and with the other wipes the board of everything that was done since, in the end we talk of Cream as if it all happened a number of centurys sgo and in a far away land in which everything was bigger and better, the truth however is that Cream were then and everything that has come after struggles to get past the nostalgia block that selective memory creates.
