Were I to be marooned on a desert island, this would be one of the ten albums that would help me while away the days. It has vibrancy, verve, panache. Mick Abrahams guitar work is like watching fireworks goes off. The reeds are as a cool as a white christmas and the rythm section just pulses. Yep, when I play this record the good times and feelings just roll.

I bought this album on the strength of the first track Into Oblivion but was pleasantly surprised by how good the rest of it is. The Great Wide Open is another stand out track. Well worth buying.

This is my favourite Who album, because it contains a terrific variety of styles and subject matter and a skipful of wit and silliness. The extras add even more of everything. 'Who's Next', 'Quadrophenia' and 'Who By Numbers' are all 'mature' collections of fine material, but 'Who Sell Out' acheives something almost unbelieveable for any 'serious' group: An album listeners can return to like an old pal. This album is flat-out Loveable. By their own admission, the 'Orrible 'Ooo never set out with that in mind! This is a treasure chest. Enjoy!

Possibly one of the best album's they ever made. Good heavy jazz/ rock throughout, good weird songs from Mercury, safe rock from Deacon, humourous silly stuff from Taylor and a few very good numbers from May. Queen was always jazz and it still is. Great album.

After buying their new album a couple of years ago, i decided to check out their first 2 albums. Their debut album quite frankly is boring it has 2 good songs on it the rest sounded this same. This album however is deffinetly better. The songs here differ from each other, and everything has improved. Best songs are My Plague, The Heretic Anthem & Iowa. This album is very heavy, but brutal? who knows. But the thing that pisses me off is people keep comparing Slipknot to Slayer that's just not right, Slayer are one of the greatest metal bands to hit the planet yeah slipknot are good their no slayer. So overall, indeed a great album much better then their debut. A great starting point for new slipknot fans.

Bullet for My Valentine's debut album, and what a debut, awesome riffs, powerful vocals and emmense Solo's is what a debut should have. Having heard only two songs from this album before I bought it, I thought it was about time broadened my musical horizons (from just listening to Metallica & Slipknot!). Beginning the album with a soft melodic intro, which features Apocalyptica, which leads prefectly into 'Her Voice Resides', A Thrash annihilation with screams but leads to smooth vocals by Matt Tuck and the boys. 'Cries in Vain' was originally taken from their self-titled five track UK EP and the US six track EP Hand of Blood and '4 Words (To Choke Upon)' was originally taken from the EP Hand of Blood. OK, the packaging looks cheap (almost photocopied) and there was room for at least one more single on disc 1 (Androgony maybe, to address the selection balance a bit), but overall this is great collection of songs that generally work well together. There are highs and lows ofcourse, but this represents the variation of material across their 4 creative albums.Sound is excellent throughout, so well worth buying. The bonus new single "Hurts" is ok, but slightly over-polished, particularly after the rougher edged material from Bleed Like Me. The remix disc is listenable but as usual they don't gel very well as an album, even though each song only appears once. Be aware too that some of these mixes are either radio edits or have apparently had intros clipped off ... Read More:

This is quo at its best - tracks like backwater and just take me out rival punk and quite frankly many modern bands. The remastering is excellent - rossi and coughlan up in the mix. 5/5

Songs taken from the DTV movie "Maximum Overdrive" , this is a mixed bag from the Aussie classic rockers . There are a couple of instrumentals , of average quality , a few more rocky numbers , fairly satisfying , and ( criminally ) only one Bon Scott track - the bluesy "Ride On" . The numbers include some real classics , such as "For Those About To Rock" and "Hells Bells" . Personally , given a choice again , I would rather buy a Greatest Hits package than this - all of these songs , and more .
