I wish I could start by giving this album more stars. As far as a Jimi Hendrix 'best of' goes, you can't do much better than this. One disc of his best known tracks and another of live and rarer music. The two sides to Jimi's music, the polished, yet still powerfully raw studio work and the soaring, imaginative and soul lifting live work. Hendrix was innovative and unique in his time and listening to his music you are struck again and again by the fact that he is still unsurpassed. His sound has been emulated (often poorly) but never bettered. 'All along the watchtower' and 'Voodoo Chile' start with full force and slap you in the face, where tracks like 'Angel' and 'Little Wing' lull you into his psychedelic, magical patchwork. His guitar ... Read More:

I didnt know dragonforce were popular on amazon everyone hates dragonforce where i live it's annoying. I love dragonforce i have all 3 off their albums. This is different to Valley Of The Damned both brilliant every song is brilliant (well i'm not too keen on Dawn Over a New world still ok) the rest are fast heavy with amazing solos. The album Opener would probably be the best and Soldier Of The Wasteland my god that is feaking amazing 9 minutes it's a masterpiece. If you're only getting into Dragonforce this is a great start. Dragonforce are a wicked band. Must be heard by everyone.

I bought this on tape when it first came out, then gave it away. If you like rock, want ot hear KISS's hits, how the were recorded, buy Double Platinum, and then just buy Creatures of the Night, Lick it Up, Asylum, Crazy Nights, Revenge, Psycho Circus, and then Carnical of Souls.

And Guys, I I have them all, been to see them 6 times, will try and get to Download (was at the front last time at Donnington), and must advise you all to get out there and see "The Hottest Bad in the World, KISS" live and in the (probably decaying) flesh!

Also Alive, Alive II, Alive III, and Alive IV are very much worth buying...

Now this is more like it! Probably the best DC album since Flick of the Switch (a personal favourite of mine), Ballbreaker marks a return to the glory days.

Almost every track is a gem, with only three showing signs of being anything less than brilliant (Love Bomb, Caught With Your Pants Down and Whiskey On The Rocks). Even then, the album does what an AC/DC album should do: you put it on and get lost in the boogie. Standout tracks include Hard As A Rock, Cover You In Oil, Boogie Man, Burnin' Alive (surely one of the best songs the boys have ever written) and the fantastic title track. And with lyrical subtlety *ahem* harking back to the Bon Scott era (how does "Honey roll over and lettuce on top" grab you?) you're onto a winner with this album.

Nickelback- The long road
\\\\

With Nickelback in the charts at the moment with their number 3 single Rockstar, many people that like rock will have heard of them. However, the album- The long road is completely different, the first track, Flat on the floor is extremely fast paced and much more intense than some of their later singles (How you remind me and Rockstar).

This album is more heavy rock and grunge than other things in the charts at the moment. This is great if you would like rock to take over the charts once again. Warning! This is not a ¡¥feel good¡¦ album- it contains subjects of dark matter. E.g.

"Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" is an incredible work from the American alternative band The Smashing Pumpkins. Released on October 24th of 1995, the double CD (triple album) features some incredibly diverse styles and more input from D'arcy Wretzky and James Iha, though certainly Billy Corgan is still the dominant creative member of the band.

The album is not afraid to take some chances. It opens with an instrumental, which is relatively soft. There is tremendous diversity, as the sound can go from acoustic to very heavy and vice-versa from one song to the next. The majority of the album is made up of relatively short pieces of less than five minutes, but there are a few longer pieces mixed in with the 28 tracks. The shorter pieces tend to stick to one ... Although I do still enjoy the title track and think the singles are not bad the album suffers from feeling a bit too samey. Even the forays into other styles "Cabron" with a Spanish style and "On Mercury" slightly more reggae come off feeling a lot like the rest of the songs. On Californication (an album that definitely could hold up to the best Chili's records) Anthony Keidis decided he would sing more than he had on any album before and on these songs he seemed to work much harder on the lyrics. The album mixed this new style with the older Chili's sound on certain songs "Around the world", "Purple Stain" and on some songs developed something new "Other Side" and "Californication". Almost all but gone are the funkier tones with by the way and the lyrics on the album don't seem to have meant ... Read More:
