First rule of any JP album, there must be a track with a title ending in ...ER, think Grinder, Sinner, the ripper, Jawbreaker, Cheater and pushing the point a little, Rocka Rolla. Shock! Horror! there's no such track to be found on Nostradamus
So having established that the rule book's taken a hike for this one, what have we got? Well if you were expecting another bunch of NWOBHM tracks from a group of blokes who have got back together merely to top up the pension fund, well forget it. This is a complete departure from the well trodden path, yes its a concept album but a concept album without the long dreary pretentious bits of many of the 70's worst examples of the genre. Instead its soars and dives from thrashing guitar to gentle melody ... Read More:

This album is brilliant. Ignore the negative reviews, this is a great album. The song Changes just reminds me of the awful cover by Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne so I do not like it, but the rest is brilliant. It's what you'd expect from the early Black Sabbath albums a great metal album with a bluesy feel to it. Best songs are Wheels Of Confusion/The Straightener, Under The Sun/Everyday Comes And Goes & Supernaut. Recommended to Black Sabbath fans. I like any Black Sabbath albums as I always enjoy Tony Iommi's guitar playing so no Black Sabbath album is bad. BLACK SABBATH ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe someone reviewed this album with the words "simply stunning". Back in Black was "simply stunning". Anything previous to that was "simply stunning". For those about to rock was also "simply stunning". This however was probably the worst album AC/DC ever produced. Another one with a possible two good tracks on. The rest of this album is rubbish. Please dont waste your money on this tripe. There are so many better AC/DC albums worth listening to.

As the title of this review says this album is awful. The best song by a long way is Sick, Sick, Sick which I first heard them perform live on the TV and thought, "Well hopefully things will get better". QOTSA are all about the tunes and heavy tunes at that.

This album is missing something and that something is Nick Oliveri. The bass is non-existent. Yuck this is just terrible.

I loved all their previous albums, I love the Desert Sessions, I loved Kyuss. What has gone wrong? I hate this album and all QOTSA have become: bloated crap.

Don't buy this! Buy any of their other albums! If you have all their other albums still don't buy it! Spend your money on some Nebula or Fu Manchu or put it in the bank.

you're too old - no excuses. This album makes Metallica sound average, dated and out of ideas. The Blister Exists is the best metal tune I've heard in at least a decade - buy it for that if nothing else. This CD is the sonic equivalent of an 18 wheeler crashing through your frontroom while you're eating your tea.

Having no prior experience of A7X, I bought this album on the strength of the single, "Almost Easy" and I wasn't disappointed. It is full of great tracks with strong, aggressive melodies, inventive guitar work and the production is crisp and clear. I think the crital comparisons with previous albums are very unfair. I subsequently bought Waking the Fallen on the strength of the A7X brand and I immediately saw the huge progression that the band has made. M. Shadows learned to sing somewhere between these records and all that silly screaming so beloved of 14 year old boys has stopped. Yes, the band has gone a lot more commercial and stadium orientated but if they hadn't, I would never have heard of them. This is one to play in the car, nice and loud. Enjoy it for what it is.

Age has not withered the output of their latest studio offering "Forever More" which is a classic in the making which has the usual brooding epic songs and straight ahaed rockers where Jeff Keith extraordianary vocal talents shine on the title track "Forever More" and "I wanna live" as well as "One Day At A Time".

No matter what has been thrown at them wether its company record disputes or drug issues they always seem to come up smelling of roses with each gem of an album that still warrants plenty of interest.

Staind have consistenly delivered commercially sucessful albums, right from their early days as a nu metal band and now a radio friendly alternative/hard rock group.
Their latest offering, The Illusion of Progress, is no exception to this rule, it's not groundbreaking material, but it's what Staind have released rather sucessfully in the past.
Fans expecting a album like Dsyfunction or Tormented are advised to stay away, because any metal influences here are long gone, in fact I don't think Aaron Lewis screams once.
In fact, this is an album made up nearly entirely of power ballads, the best of which being "All I Want" and "Save Me."
It's not exactly going to gain Staind a whole new generation of fans, but existing fans of Staind know exactly what to expect, and Staind ... Read More:
