All hail the king, baby. Max is back. When people thought this album's predecessor 'Dark Ages' was a return to form since their self titled debut, they were wrong. This is definitely the new king of the hill as far as Soulfly albums go. With less experimental breaks and more heavy, thrash and a bit more heavy, this is a must!! Stand out tracks are 'Conquer', 'For Those About to Rot' and opener 'Blood Fire War Hate' it is relentless, classic Soulfly from start to finish. Bring on their Bloodstock and mini tour next week, I sure as hell can't wait.

Public Enemy's other Classic album after 1988's It Takes..., an album that transcends it's genre & one of the soundtracks to urban life of the early '90s - Rap fans, Metal fans, all different walks embraced this music, recognising it's aggression & lyrical intensity as a common denominator. A sheer wall of sound, with layers & depths unseen before in the Hip Hop world. It follows the same blueprint as it's predecessor, but with more of a nod to the 'old' black music; Soul, Blues, Motown in it's rhythms and samples. If you're looking for classical tango, as per previous reviewer, then look elsewhere now. I was smitten by GotanP after hearing them on a Costes mix. However BajofondoTG are even better IMHO. But whet really got me was when they were scheduled to play live in Brighton earlier this year. However on the night they hadn't arrived by the opening time. An hour later and still no show. Turned out they were delayed at the airport and eventually started a hour and half late. You read lots about groups who's sound has lots of sampling, how they have a 'studio sound', and their live performace are somewhat lacking. Well I thought BTG do have that sort of sound. i love this album, it is a great blend of dance,rnb and pop. i listen to this album all the time if i get a chance. my favourite tracks are I NOT BEING RUDE BUT I LOVE DANITY KANE, BUT I THINK ABUREY THINKS SHE IS SO GOOD,ALSO IN DAMAGED VIDEO,SHANNON LOOKS LIKE SHE IS WEARING A WIG.PLUS THE VIDEO IS FOR OLD MEN WHO CAN'T GET LAID YOUNG GIRLS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE 2 WATCH THIS! bad girl damaged strip tease pretty boy sucka for love 2 of u key 2 ur heart flashback(interluad) this album is absoultley brillant you need this in your collection BUY IT NOW!

really cool, wittily written lyrics, heavily influenced by epmd. same sense of fun and distinct lack of macho crap so prevalent in hip hop today. like a step back to guys rapping about actual real everyday stuff like playing streetfighter with your mates instead of posing in niteclubs. its lighthearted but the sound is solid n' kicks throughout. restored my faith in hip hop cos it really had started to suck recently.

I completey agree with the previous reviewer. The album does have some decent tracks, but it is very samey for the majority.
