Public Enemy's other Classic album after 1988's It Takes..., an album that transcends it's genre & one of the soundtracks to urban life of the early '90s - Rap fans, Metal fans, all different walks embraced this music, recognising it's aggression & lyrical intensity as a common denominator. A sheer wall of sound, with layers & depths unseen before in the Hip Hop world.
It follows the same blueprint as it's predecessor, but with more of a nod to the 'old' black music; Soul, Blues, Motown in it's rhythms and samples.
It feels like a concept album as the songs & lyrics mesh so well together.
STILL VERY AGGRESSIVE - but not in the oafish style of the 50 Cent's of the world. Lyrics with meaning - before the guns ... Read More:

When I was about 15 I used to really like Korn, but as with most things I liked at that time I gradually grew out of it. A couple of months ago however I decided to pick up a copy of follow the leader and give it another chance, I mean I used to love it when I was 15 so it can't be that bad surely? Well I have to say that I was somewhat surprised at what it felt like to be listening to Korn again with what I'd like to think are more refined tastes. I was struck by how different Korn's sound actually was to the rest of the bands around at that time, all the rap/nu-metal bands seem in retrospect completely devoid of imagination, but Korn's music is still surprisingly fresh 8 years later. The songs were never the three power chords/palm muted verse nonsense ... Read More:

This really is a great greatest hits album, the old schoolstyle of rapping used here is really effective to the great beats.
Frequent use of the words ' sucker mc' shows the old skool style.
This is better than a lot of the new skool playas and hip hop legends like these will help save the game.
Tracks like public enemy no.1 show chucky d's great style of rapping, and you really have to get this.

I hadn't really heard any of Air's previous work before I watched 'The Virgin Suicides' but after hearing the haunting soundtrack and the eerie melodies that were so fitting to the film I just had to go out and buy this. It is captivating within itself and is an album that truly makes you think. As a soundtrack it works very well as it is filled with haunting tracks that just make you want to listen again and again.

It will take you back to poignant times in your life and really make you think. I find the tracks so haunting and deep that while listening to them you can really reflect on your emotions and feelings. Although it can sound rather sinister in places it is filled with beautiful tracks which upon listening to reveal their darker themes. A very ... Read More:

The problem with this album is that it is TOO POLISHED and commercial. Gone is the raw sound of Ready To Die and all we get is a bunch of poppy RnB hits.
With the wxception of Hypnotize the album is full of forgettable songs. The wordplay that Biggie uses is second to none but the production by Puffy is lame.
Yes it is an epic album and it has a lot of tracks but Puffys production doesn't suit Biggies stories.
Listen to Gimme The Loot from ready To Die and that is Biggie at his very best! Nothing comes close on this album.

You may disagree and that's fine but it's just my opinion.

I used to be into my G*A back when the Vertigo album came out, but then moved on to the Goodbye Country.
Vertigo is a classic album in my mind now, goodbye Country only an average album so went off G*A.
But, when I got the Soundboy Rock album, it re-kindled my love of the groove (even though they have totally moved on from the other albums).
If you like one song off this album, but are not sure about the album, buy it. You won't be disappointed!

I can't understand why people listen to this! Is it cool? Does it make you feel like a tough guy? truth is my gangsta wannabes, your not gangstaz or thugs, and neither was Tupac. He preached violence and murder so that people became afraid, which is basically being a coward.

Thank God he can't release any more trash like this. Wannabe thug shizzle. And that goes for 50 cent, snoop and all the other posers out there. They aint gangsta. Take them to live with the italian or russian mafia. Thats gangsta.

have a nice life losers.

OK so where to begin? Rather than give a blow by blow disc by disc review I thought I'd just sum up/review the entire thing as a whole.

For long term wrestling fans like myself, most of the songs on here will be recognisable. Granted if you read the track listings there may be some you don't know but I'm pretty sure you'll listen to it and go "Oh yeah now I remember."

A lot of other reviews will mention a lack of their favourite WWF/WWE theme and personally I would've liked to have seen Demolition, Virgil or even Brutus Beefcake on here but a quick look at the WWE rosters since 1988 at least tells me that there are thousands of songs WWE had to choose from. The sheer fact they were able to pick only 3 CDs full is progress for a start.

Simply put, ... Read More:
