This album is really bad. I've tried to like it. I've had it for years and every so often I go back and listen to it. Even the Rolling Stones cover is awful. Maggie's Farm is probably the only song on here that I like, and by like I mean it'd get 3 stars. But the rest of the album is just unimaginitive and technically mediocre. I woulnd't give it a 1 star, that'd be unfair. I do like quite a lot of the RATM music that I hear, but this album was clearly in the sale section all those years ago for a very good reason. They must have run out of good ideas earlier on in their career, which is a shame. If I wanted to listen to something similar I'd just go with Faith No More and never look back.

Other reviewers have said it all - I just want to clarify a couple of things 1) A couple of tracks here are not the same performances as on the companion video. One of them, Roads, was recorded at a festival (and certainly sounds like it!). The other - well, read on... 2) None of the tracks on this album deserve to be damned with the faint praise of "faithful reproduction of the originals". For one thing, they're all loud and vivid-sounding, with a fine balance of ambience and clarity (and this makes a particular difference to the second-album material - Cowboys is a speaker-blaster!). Elsewhere, Mysterons and Strangers have extended codas; Half Day Closing (with all its vocal processing intact) ends with a strange `Liberty Bell'-like sample ... Read More:

Aside from "King Of The Stereo" this is a complete u-turn to their last & best album "Survival Of The Sickest". If you like Nickleback & other watered down rock than you'll like this but Saliva have done something which I thought they'd never do, soled out.

WELL, WHAT CAN I SAY: ATROCIOUS SONG REALLY, A FITTING SENTIMENT FOR THE WHOLE ALBUM REALLY, ASIDE FROM THE FIRST TUNE. BUT SINCE THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT I KNEW THAT I'D HEARD THE OPENING PIANO RIFT BEFORE. AND NOW I KNOW WHERE IT WAS: IT'S THE OPENING RIFT OF "DON'T STOP BELIEVING" BY 80S POWER BALLAD BAND JOURNEY!!! LET IT NOT BE SAID THAT TIMBALAND DOESN'T HAVE MUSICAL TASTE, EVEN IF HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY MUSICAL SKILL. STICK TO MAKING SHOES AND COATS MATE.

Its hard to understand why bo mc dizzee signed the Newham Generals and not Tinchy but after hearing this LP I now know. Stryder's got skills... mad skills and Dizzee was probably scared that stryder would overshadow his 'boss.' Unfortunately (and fortunately for rasket)the same thing cannot be said about the duo of D-Double E and Footsie. Anyways, back to the Album. Tinchy's rhymes are as they always are, sharp, raw and straight up grime (most evident in 'mainstream money' 'xtra' and 'not like me.') However his lyrics and lyrical content are deeper and productions tighter than some next mixtape. Thanks to DaVinChe, Tinchy's flagship tune 'something about your smile' was a big commercial hit and was what he desperately needed to seperate this star from the hood from the unfortunate ... I've had this album a long, long time and even after buying all their others, this one is still the original and best. From the outstanding 'Fun Lovin' Criminal' (best song ever, no contest) to the lovely cover version of 'We Have All the Time in the World' and everything in between, this is truly a great album. The guys couldn't get any funkier if they tried, and could make a Celine Dion cover sound like the coolest thing ever. If you don't have this album already, buy it - the best introduction to the best band in the world. Spread the word, and then go see them live!

The title track was the hit and was so over-played that it might seem tiring. But the rest of the album is one of those rare animals, a mellow dance album that one can play all the way through without a single annoying track that makes you want to fast forward. Some reviewers seem to complain that there are no other 'hits' on the CD, but in a sense that's because the standard of each track is so equal that none is needed. Don't search for any single moment of brilliance - just play the whole thing as the perfect backdrop to whatever you're doing - seen in that way there are few better albums.

A fantastic compilation, stand out tracks are Blackberry Jam by Leroy Hutson and Nothing to Do but Today by The Isley Brothers. Be prepared to blow the speakers in your car as you WILL feel the need to keep reaching for the bass & volume controls. Obey the law, wear your sunglasses, let the funk keep coming.

Let's face it: the music in the film is brilliant, but this isn't the same music. Some idiot has has messed around with it and made it into some hip-hop/rapping rubbish. It's lost almost all what made it so good in the film. Consequently there's a lot of upset people out there who have found that the music on the audio CD bears little resemblance to the music in the film. Far better to make your own recording from the DVD; the two excellent songs are "Rain on me" and "He still loves me."
