Producer and rapper RZA told a Danish interviewer that the album he's the most proud of is this one, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)", and it is hard to disagree with him.
What is there to say about such an essential hip hop album that hasn't been said? One classic track leads to another on this 1993 release, and today, in the year of 2008, the price is so low there are no excuses on not owning it. Even if you hate hip hop, this record may be the one to start out with, combining primarily simple and catchy beats with the funny, yet hardcore, lyrical masterpieces each member presents us with in each track.
I can try to point of my favorite tracks, but it is kinda hard. "Bring da ruckus", "Shame on a nigga", "Da mystery of chessboxin'", ... Read More:

I first bought this album in 2003 when I was 13 when I was just getting into music. What a massive mistake! First of all I didn't realise how terribly this guy swears. His lyrics are just appalling. I can't understand why anyone would feel the need to swear as much as he does. As soon as I heard this album the first time I never listened to it over properly ever again. I actually bought this album mainly for Lose yourself which I really liked back then because of the energy, but his record company are such a bunch of cheapskates that they made the fans buy two albums. Lose yourself was actually put on the movie soundtrack album instead of on this album and that is so pathetic.

Eminem is the single worst thing that has ever happened to rap ... Read More:

if you though that jay z just made popcorn rap, and never really thought he was worth your time, or just thought he was an overrated commercialized rapper, listen to it, because it proves how talented he actually is, this album is a classic in every sense of the word, it has something most rap albums nowadays lack, subject matter, lyrics, beats, meaning and originality, this album is basically chronicling the ups and downs, regrets and joys of being a hustler, the beats to start off with are great, this album was mostly produced by dj premiere, and he did a fantastic job, the production is clean, crisp, and fit jay zs flow and lyrics, my next point, the lyrics, the lyrics are some of the best rap lyrics ever, jay z has a great mutli-syllable rhyming scheme, ... Apart from "Frontin'", Pharrell's solo output has been confusingly bad, and he has far more success with his funk/rock group N*E*R*D. The band's latest offering 'Seeing Sounds' successfully combines the mellow chords of 'In Search Of' and the prominent guitar of 'Fly Or Die' in a musically diverse album. Drum n Bass influences "Everybody Nose", "Anti Matter" and "Spaz", but the latter two tracks sound somewhat cluttered with ideas. The funk and flow of "Yeah You" is better, while the Beatle-esque "Sooner or Later" is a brilliant number before it breaks into a 2 minute guitar solo. Although Pharrell cites Steely Dan as one of his main influences, this guitar solo cannot match that of Walter Becker.
Tracks such as "You Know What" and "Laser Gun" are stronger ... Read More:

Have bought quite a few albums recently and been generally disappointed but this one is great! There are no tracks that you want to skip! The mixture of music genres all in one album is brilliant which came quite unexpected for me. Can't stop playing it!
