I wanted this as soon as I saw it advertised on the TV, it is good to listen to and it is worth buying but as usual the best tracks are played on the TV advert, I enjoy the colaboration with Stray Cats and I have played the album more than once but I can't get too enthusiastic about it, overall it's ok.

possibly the most irritating bunch of useless dim wits to grace the music scene ever, the songs really are scraping the barrel to the point where it becomes quite offensive. Most of the songs comprise of background music reminisent of the type found on old commodore 64 computer games (only not as good) with that vile singer chanting the same childish lyrics over and over again in that horrible whiney voice. Unfortunately this is the type of music your average thick moron seems to like these day's.

I've never given the Foo Fighters the time or day, just never really got into them post Nirvana. Bought this album upon recommendation by a Foo fan. Upon first listen (whilst clearing out the garage) I knew there was something very important happening to me. Quite simply at that moment I became an instant Grohl/Foo fan. Having now backtracked on most of the Foo's catalogue from my own perspective, this is not only my favourite of theirs but quite possibly the most important 'rock' album in my CD collection and remains a permanent fixture in the car ! I hadn't heard any Mogwai before. Listened to this album on their myspace page and really liked. Sometimes happy but mostly moody soundtracks to films never made but probably should have been. I can imagine Shane Meadows making a film with a Mogwai soundtrack. A bit of Sonic Youth, a bit of shoegazing, a bit of Pink Floyd, it even reminds me a bit of some Pat Metheny stuff. Whatever it is it's worth listening too. Buy without hesitation if you like proper grown up sounds.

They plod along like a third rate pub band with all the musical inspiration of a brain dead gnat. NOBODY is going to be inspired to become a lead guitarist by listening to this lot plod along.

First off lets get this out of the way, this is NOT their second album, nor have the band ever claimed otherwise, it's an E.P (granted it's quite a long one, an extended E.P you might say) i guess people have assumed it's an album due to it being 10 tracks long and for those who have heard it, perhaps the fact it that it sounds good enough to be a second album. Without changing the formula too much from 'Hold On Now, Youngster' This record certainly shows promise that LC! are evolving and growing as a band. 'Ways to Make it Through the Wall' and 'Miserabilia' are the sounds of a band that has massively grown in confidence. The title track along with 'You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing' are instantly loveable and classic LC! The most pleasing track to find on here ... Read More:

This is not their best album, worth listening to, definitely. I would urge you to buy it but if it's a choice of different muse albums go for Black Holes and Revelations. Very good lyrics and the songwriting is upto scratch as usual. Still very good.

4.6 stars. Two female vocalists, it sounds great, they compliment each other really well, plenty of excellent and groovy sounds. Stirring stuff, creates images, goes along, tracks 3, 7 and 9 in particular real stone grooves, a wide range of styles; witness Sempiternal/Amaranth at over 11 minutes long. The whole album's very good, very nice. Not a particularly insightful review, I appreciate, but I wanted this band to score well on the old Amazon rating system. If it helps, the beginning of White Elephant Coat sounds like it could be from 1970.0

Listened to OH (ohio) once, thought, 'Dull. Very dull. Better give it a second chance.' Listened to it twice, thought, 'Damn! Why did I waste my money?' I'm a seasoned lambchop fan, have most of their albums, like dozens of tracks off the early albums, loved Is A Woman and listened to it over a hundred times - so it's not as if I don't like quiet, thoughtful, contemplative songs with obscure lyrics... But... ...the praise Kurt Wagner has received for his recent discs has clearly gone to his head. The Damaged CD was ok but moving in the dull direction (and didn't improve when I saw him live) - and OH (ohio) trumps that. The tracks are all very, very samey and have little emotional charge.
