I only just recently heard of VNV Nation, I heard their song 'Legion' and bought the 'Honour 2003 Maxi CD' [theres a live version of Legion on the disc].THEY ARE GREAT!!
So if you like dark electro-type rock reminiscant of the 80's / 90's (and 00's) then I would definitely recommend this band, get it NOW!!

Music : Deliverance
"Deliverance" sees COC leaving their old thrash crossover style completely behind. Pepper Keenan ( of Down) entered the band and really took control of this album, laying down his superb vocals and song writing ability. The sound changed to more southern styled metal, akin to a lighter Pantera with more melodic vocals and the odd thundering Sabbath inspired riff. While this didn't go down with the hardcore fans of the band's old thrash style, it drew in a wider metal and grunge fan base.

There is a host of great rocking tracks, all enveloping that southern swagger and a great bent for melody. My favourites include the grooving opener "Heaven Is Not Overflowing", the slow-burner "Albatross", "Clean My Wounds" which is one of the ... Read More:

This album was my first venture into Tom Shears world of a23. As a fan of bands like VNV Nation, Covenant, Wolfsheim, Icon of Coil etc I figured I'd try out a bit of Assemblage 23 and I'm not in the slightest way disappointed! Thumping beats and pace of Infinite, Apart, and Regret can't fail to set the pulse running. All the tracks have clever well considered lyrics as Tom Shear takes the listener on a journey of pain and revelation. Ingenious, enlightening yet dark, broody, the album seems to bring together a lot of the intelligent music of the scene together under one banner from beginning to end, and what an end - 30KFT is simply a brilliant close out to the album in a truly enigmatic manner and has become one of my favourite all time tracks. ... Laibach are a very important band (I imagine GWB has never heard of them but Brandon Flowers most certainly has) - this and Kapital are their greatest statements to pop culture - where is Steel Trust on CD? Like Jan Garbarek, you changed a life..

I am an avid fan of Oomph. Lets just say i love every track of this new album. You may ask why i only gave it 4 stars? This is because i own everyone of Oomph's 10 albums and to be honest i prefer the older, rawer less mainstream edge of the band. Don't get me wrong this is a fantastic album but many hardcore fans ask is this the right direction for Oomph?

This album records Rammstein live, and the bad are notoriously wild in live perfomances. However, the album starts slowly, and the band's choice of opening tracks are far too tame, and at first the listener feels rather let down. However, "Weisses Fleisch" really starts to heat things up, and by the time we reach "Sensucht" the band are in full glorious flow. For the rest of the album the band boom along, with only two tracks slightly slowing the relentless pace ("Wilder Wein" and "Rammstein" slightly break the momentum, but not seriously so). Having seen Rammstein live, I can testify that they have definitely gotten better live since this album was recorded, so if they ever release another live one, keep an eye out for it. This is recommended to ... Read More:

This is a truly brilliant CD, released at the high-point of MSI's career. Featuring three remixes and the original demo of 'Shut Me Up', it goes above and beyond by providing us with two new songs, and two remixes of their other hit, 'straight to video'.

Admittedly, the STV mixes, while good, are largely forgettable, but the SMU mixes are all quality, particularly the first, which is a slightly tweaked, and much harder hitting update of the original.

Of the two new songs, 'Adios Amigos' is an instant classic, great for playing either on your own or with a couple of like-minded MSI fans. The other track, a cover of Biggie Smalls 'Big Poppa', is an obvious attempt at recreating the success of their mind-blowing 'Bring the Pain' ... Read More:

Soldiers Of Misfortune is as epic and poigniant as anything the erstwhile Irish fellas have put out in recent years. The rest of the album is stonking. If NIN could have kept this guy, their recent creative output might have actually been worth listening to...

Excellent album, worth every penny...

This highly influential UK band made different styles of experimental music throughout the various phases of their career. They were pioneers of the use of found sounds and tape loops. Their most memorable song, in my opinion, is the classic single Nag Nag Nag with its compelling beat and appealing guitar distortion.

The Crackdown from 1986 found them in a dance/electronic mood, with a sound not unlike some of the work of Brian Eno, Simple Minds or even the much later Autechre. At fist listen, the album may come across as somewhat monotonous although repeated listens will reveal the subtle textures that make the music absorbing and enjoyable.

The opening track 24-24 is spacious and melodious while In The Shadows has interesting ... Read More:
