it was going to happen eventually........ the fact that fear factory finally release an album that didn't redefine the genre and this is it
its not a bad album by any means but by their own very high standards its disappointing
everything that made their previous work brilliant is still here but it feels this time like they are merely going over old ground and subsequently it fails due to a lack of intention
the guitars still knock you sideways the drums still feel like bodyblows and burtons voice still gets those hairs standing up on the back of your neck
the only trouble its nothing new in this mixture and the guitar sound isn't as good as elsewhere and this album has atleast three terrible songs on it and that is ... Read More:

I'm not much of a writer when it comes to reviews, but not much needs to be said for this album so I'll keep it short and sweet! This is definatly the best cxs album yet, the band just gets better with every passing album, if you are an old or new cxs fan, this is the album you should buy!

Due to the initial delays of UK Release this review refers to the Import version I have, which may differ slightly (the Import has the 14 listed tracks). The Planet Mu taster remix 12" (Lonely Soldier/Guns & Lovers/Hellfire)indicated some slower tracks on this release, and overall the feel is slightly more laid-back than some MBM material. Lynn Farmer's pristine live drumming melds perfectly with Jack's percussive programming, and trademark basslines and bleeps, but melodic content is far less here than on his previous "At The Centre" offering. Percussion and loops abound, with some interesting vocal samples and a couple of rap collaborations ("Young Cassius" is particularly strong with it's catchy "Tip of the tongue" rapid-fire repeat chorus). A thoughtful, yet ... Read More:

As I recall, this was probably the first CD I ever bought, if it wasn't Thriller by Michael Jackson or some Spice Girls single. At that age £17 was a whopping great price for a CD, but some 13 years on I think I've gotten my money's worth, many times over.

The selection of tracks here is a perfect amalgamation of metal (Napalm Death, Fear Factory), techno (The Immortals, Traci Lords) and techno-metal (KMFDM, Gravity Kills), with a few snippets of George S. Clinton's excellent score thrown in for good measure. A couple of the tracks are exclusive to this album as well, which before the days of downloading made it an essential purchase for fans of Type O Negative, for the way-superior mix of "Blood And Fire" which would eventually be released on Life Is Killing ... this album has got the lot
it really is that simple
the range of songs on display is scary from the big rock rage of im not trading to the industrial tinged stomp of power struggle through the acoustic sorrow of 7% to the trip hop fuelled OD to the blues jazz lunacy of grape
at every turn its inspired and unexpected and that is what makes this such an enthralling listen
sadly the band is no more but atleast they have left behind this towering majestic album of utter genius

If you read the reviews - opinion is clearly split on this little EP!

Personally, i loved it when it first came out, and 15 years on, its actually matured with age!

I'm going to polarise further with this remark - but this is one for the connoisseur of industrial. It harks back to the earlier days of industrial, before the genre was hijacked by overused guitars and standard (boring) metal overtones. The sound is minimal and bleak. The samples are choice and abrasive. Vocals are repetitive but effective. And the programming, even 15 years on, its absolutely awesome. Man, this is just a classic - similar in tone to the late 80's output of Ministry. (Think 'stigmata' etc). And if all that interests you - then buy the EP now.

However, if ... Read More:
