Still riding on her success of 'Opheliac' and its style, Emilie Autumn has now released an EP with two covers of the most distinctive songs ever recorded: Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' and Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Two very difficult songs to make your own, and two very difficult songs to sell different versions of as the originals are so culturally and historically well-known. Autumn's attempt does not work with both songs.

This EP contains nine tracks. There are five versions of 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun', one of 'Bohemian Rhapsody', two live tracks from her recent tour and an extra exclusive recording. Veteran Autumn fans will recognise the format easily enough, but for new fans this EP may be a bit ... Read More:

i would recommend this album to anyone who has a more diverse taste in music than just metal or rock or whatever. this album is not for the closed minded, which metal fans invariably are.
not for little boys who have the opinion:, "highly suprised that Rammstein (A cool industrial metal band) actually helped remix the awsome songs into such rubbish!"

(A cool industrial metal band)?......

I sometimes wonder if there's anyone in Finland who isn't in a band. It certainly seems that way. The 69 Eyes, though, have been knocking around for a fair old while now, perfecting their bizarre brand of the Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode and AC/DC. And it really is rather compelling. There isn't actually anything new going on, but the band seem to have the knack of putting the usual building blocks back in a slightly off kilter fashion. Even when singing "I'm a rocker yeah, baby, I'm a rocker, that's right, I'm a rocker" on, wait for it, 'Rocker'! But sometimes that's all you need. Or the fabulous HIM like ballad 'In My Name', which just bleeds black. However, if you're looking for that full on Type O Negative moment, then I may I point your downloading ... Read More:

Well, I got "Antikörper" through the mail today, and was really excited. Having heard and loved "Eisbrecher", Eisbrecher's first album, and reading that the second album marked a noted change in style, I snapped this one up as quickly as I could. In the two years since vocalist Alex (formerly of Megaherz fame, along with Noel Pix, also from Megaherz) and the boys released their first album, they've clearly not been idle. A very strong change in style. Whereas "Eisbrecher" was synths and fairly tame metal, Antikörper is practically ballistic. The guitars are crunching, the drums are pounding and the synths aren't used as much, although when they are, the results can be spectacular. With that in mind, let's stick the CD on play, and see what we get...

Simply put, as a video of a fantastic gig, this does what many fail to do. It captures the emotion and spirit of a live gig perfectly. However, coming from the man who seems to be at the pinnacle of music technology, it seems a bit bleak - and not in a good way. The DVD is sparse on extras to the point that the package as a whole seems rushed out. The production on the videos is spot on, that cannot be argued but it is the little extras that are missing. Not a huge problem - not even a problem to be honest. It's just a tad dissapointing coming from Nine Inch Nails.

Still a great video though and on a mates home theatre system it was absolutely amazing.

Music : Love It All
There are many bands that should've got much more than they did and the New Fast Automatic Daffodils, like the Chameleons and many others the music they left is still inspiring the besty of the new crop of 'indie' bands. Maybe a little less radio friendly than some of their contempories (James,Inspiral carpets and the Stone Roses) the song still sound great never ones to over produce yet still still sounding great they are a band I really wished I'd took a bit more notice of at the time.

My first Puppy album, believe it or not. I was a little concerned, because some people had dismissed it as a disappointing comeback, too poppy, too (blech) nu-metal, and so on, and so it was something of a gamble buying it.
I have little idea what they sounded like before, but if their previous stuff is even one-tenth similar to this, I'll be spending all my pay packets of 2005 rescuing all their albums from the darker corners of Amazon.
This is a quite stunning, complex little beast; electro-industrial rather than industrial rock, more Frontline Assembly than Ministry (I guess. What do I know?), with the most gorgeous production - about 20 or so different levels of samples and effects shifting and slithering about all over each other like metallic ants, more ... Read More:

To be honest I bought this album just for the hell of it. Being an old fan of Era 1 I havn't really bothered much with Mortiis' new stuff. I don't like metal music to much at all, more of a dance/electro fan. So I got this album really just for the car, and I was amazed, its everything I expected Mortiis to end up doing before he released Era 2. Expect the Grudge again, but with barely no guitars (yeeesss) and groovy keyboards.
I hope Mortiis goes more in this vain and ends up in Ibiza. Failing that back to the ambiance, metal is for geeks.

Forgot to mention it sounds great through a sub.
