dope lost only one member in the transition between this and the last album and it would appear to be a good thing as this album is slightly better. the production feels better the guitars are sharper the vocals clearer and the drums thunder away at the back of your head. great stuff and it all moves at a frantic pace with not one song hanging around any longer than it needs to. overall the sound is a bizarre mish mash of industrial and nu-metal tinges but it all feels slightly different to anything else out there at the moment until ministry get their act together again atleast.

Having listened to this album now for ages upon ages, I finally got to see Deathstars live supporting Korn in Manchester. This is an astounding album; Tongues, Cyanide and Trinity Fields (Nephilim resurrestion?!) standing out for me. The production is immaculate and Whiplasher's vocals send chills up your spine - he is SO convincing as a master Goth vocalist, yet GREAT as an insidiously evil Death vocalist - often on the same track! Tinkly synths mixed with crunching guitar and bone crushing percussion all add up to a fantastic sound.
Having said all that, I was massively disappointed with their set at the Apollo - because of the sheer bloomin' SHORTNESS of it! KORN - you made a massive mistake! Flyleaf (boring, screaming, repetitive, martyr ... Read More:

In many ways the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack is what should've happened with that for the first movie. Instead of double dipping the rock and classical soundtracks we get both here and at the price it's now reduced to that's a fantastic bargain.
The first disc features some gems and some tracks that led me to knew places and some where you just go... "whatever" but as a collection it hangs together well - though not as well as the first movies rock soundtrack. The standout for me was the instrumental version of Rob Dougan's Furious Angels which is derived from the original movie's "Clubbed to Death." I many ways Clubbed to Death was THE title theme of The Matrix - even though it only appeared during the scene with the woman in the red dress, its ... Read More:

Agonizing an articulate remonstration of machevellian stoicism, the album proports an idealistic tragedy of Macbethian proportions. At times subtle, at times extravagant, its pheneric essence is disturbed only by its melencholy. Texturely euphoric, the band attain almost diagnostic applomb..........fill ya boots!

This is the album that got me into filter, i had heard "welcome to the fold" on mtv and it was so good i had to hear the album. When i eventually managed to get hold of a copy i didn't stop listening to it for weeks. I love every track but the best ones are "welcome to the fold", captain bligh", "the best things", and " skinny". They even venture onto acoustic guitar for "take a picture" which is a great track.
I recommend this album if you are into chevelle, breakin benjamin, aperfectcircle or any band that has that sort of a sound. their other two albums are great but this is their best, enjoy.

Will Amazon let me away with a four-word review??

Dear God, THE RIFFS!!

No? How about a 363 word review then?

Strictly speaking, this album doesn't need another glistening review; it has enough fans. I really ought to be off defending something that needs the help like the rubbish Revolver or the misunderstood Bob Hoskins-starring Super Mario Bros.

Hello? Still there?

The Rammsetin of Herzeleid is a much different beast to that of later albums, the self aware Sehnsucht or the chart ready days of Mutter onwards. This is a raw hungry and angry document of, as the title suggests, Heartache. Band members have been noted as saying Rammstein is about love, in all of its forms. If this is true, Herzeleid is about ... Read More:

rob zombie is a legend within metal and industrial circles as his band white zombie completely blurred the line between the two genres, and they are to a small extent represented here(but this is called ROB ZOMBIE:past present and future) with 6 out of the 19 songs. they represent his past, a much more metal affair than what he is doing now, and some people believe that he would be better off going towards the metal again as the best songs on this album are probably "feed the gods","more human than human" and "supercharger heaven" or the devilman song as ive seen it called on download sites.
but that said the solo material does stand up well in comparison as it is so different, the emphasis seems to be more on the beats and the samples and it definately feels like there ... Read More:

well it seems that im the first person to review this album in over 4 years,a proud moment indeed, anyway, deviant is an album from a band that have split but every now and then appear for the odd gig, this is their second last offical release and shows a band that are more rock than metal and perhaps slightly old school punk as well.
The band are famed for using programming and synths to make an industrial noise but that element is toned down here, there are a few drum and bass segments found here such as on 'hidden agenda' but that isnt the norm here, the sound is more stripped back and safe in a way and it works.
The album speeds by with a comparitive ease, nothing fancy, nothing techncial, just rock with good schorus and good lyrics based on social commentary of the time.Vocalist j.s has a ... Read More:
