Well a great soundtrack to match a great film. A very eclactic range of music here, From Zombie's own spooky tracks to classics from Buck owens ect. The little snippets of Scott Humphry's score
are a very nice touch and kind of 'round off' the album in general. If you like the film then you will like the music, thus you will like this album..........and if your just a Zombie fan, buy the album because it has otherwise unrealsed tracks of his that are great and make this almost another one of his albums in general.

Like you I love Marilyn Manson, and contrary to the name of my review, I understand and even like the fact that his music, certainly his vocals, does involve some gutteral screaming.

He's a shock-rock star, so I don't expect him to be all gentle and pretty and lovey-dovey. But I could barely listen to my favourite songs such as 'Sweet Dreams' without hearing the bloody, pulsing, throbbing tidal wave of demented fans roaring "MANSON-MANSON-MANSON!!!" or "DRRRUUGGGS!" in the background. I like to listen to Marilyn Manson when hes actually singing...here, all the songs are overloaded with screaming, bellowing fans who can't control themselves, and of course the very pleasent opening words to songs like "I Don't Like the Drugs (But ... "I don't care what someone does until it affects their work. When the work suffers, then it's fair game." - Harry Knowles

First you've got it, then you've lost it. And you don't know quite where you lost it, but there's some nagging feeling that you left it far behind, and you don't know where, so you can't go back and pick it up.

You remember when you used to sell a whole bunch of records and were the posterboy for the obscure industrial kids who hungaround in black t-shirts at college. Well, if you hadn't spent most of your adult life whacked up to the nines on crack, or smack, or whateverthehell it is you buy with your dwindling royalties you might remember it. But it's all a bit of a blur now.

I bought this album initially when it was launched in the mid 90's and boy what an excellent tribute it was. From the initial Biohazard blast to the finish with T 0 Negative..it was an ensenble of neo rock paying homage to the Gods that started it all.Personally i loved the sepultura version of 'symptom of the universe',But the megadeth cover of Paranoidis awesome[with Nick menza forgetting to stop @the end..and a furious Mustaine yelling].Super tribute amd a very mustbuy. There is Vol.2[red album] but its a shade on the 1st.

There is a statement on the inlay of Filter's debut LP "Short Bus" that reads as follows: "There is a certain subset of musicians who for reasons unknown adhere to the false premise that "electronic" music or the tools involved imply a lack of creativity of inspired performance. Technology in the hands of creative, intelligent individuals is a tool for art, not a hindrance. Filter, being members of the current millennia, admit freely to the use of such devices." I agree wholeheartedly with the spirit of this statement - technology is all too often used as a tool to mask a lack of talent and ideas (see almost all pop music of the last 15-20 years), but in the right hands it opens up a world of possibilities that can be exploited with intelligence and subtlety, ... "The whole Afghanistan situation was kicking off.Iran had the American hostages...We were taking notice. It kind of culminated with 'Red Mecca'. It's not called that by coincidence. We weren't referencing the ****ing Mecca ballroom in Nottingham!", richard h. kirk re-quoted in 'Rip It Up & Start Again' (Faber, 2005)

Cabaret Voltaire had been round several years already, building on their blend of electronica, dub & avant rock they had already released several classics - 'Nag Nag Nag', 'Baader Meinhof', 'The Set Up', 'This is Entertainment', 'No Escape', 'Do the Mussolini', & their distinctive cover of the Velvets' 'Here She Comes Now.' The 'Living Legends' & 'Original Sound of Sheffield' compilations sum up these formative ... Read More:

As active as ever, Emilie releases yet more new material for her die-hard fans to rip their teeth into which is continuing down the 'Opheliac' path regarding style and genre.

Comparisons with her previous EP are inevitible, and this EP is the clear winner, for there are no 'repeats' (unless you put 'Organ Grinder' in that category, but this could only previously be found on the Saw III soundtrack) and this EP flows and makes more sense as a whole. Far more atmospheric than the Liar/Dead Is The New Alive EP. Generally speaking, this EP follows the exact format as its predecessor, giving us a few original tracks, some remixes from Opheliac and some random extras.

The main focus is the title track, which makes this whole EP worth buying, ... Read More:

This mini album is almost the complete opposite of Nine Inch Nails' debut "Pretty Hate Machine". The angry lyrics are still there, but this time round Trent has swapped his funky synths, laid back vocals and dancey beats and loops for thrashing guitars and a fair lot of screaming. It was on this EP that Trent discovered the electric guitar and he later combined the two sounds of "Pretty Hate Machine" and "Broken" to create his own individual sound that appeared on his masterpiece "The Downward Spiral".

"Broken" begins with "Pinion", which is less of a song and more of a grinding, angry, instrumental introduction to "Wish". "Wish" itself has become one of NIN's most famous songs and a staple at concerts, with it's rhythmic drum beats and industrial repetitive ... Read More:

The reason for Welt's archaic feel was that it was written a few years before it was recorded for sale. This new album carries on from the last, the first track Hilo could easily be from Welt. The first imediate difference in these albums is that this once sounds a lot better, the vocals are clearer and less distorted, and the beats seem more focused and the melodies tighter. Track two is by far the best on the album, it is heavier than the rest of the album, and also included on the cd is a video done to this song which is an amazing piece of animation. Track three starts off slowly then creeps up on you like a tiger, then in comes the heavier beats which make you start head nodding and your body soon starts to react to the music. This whole album is very much an EBM or industrial ... Read More:
