Great music, BUT ... The DVD appears to have some sort of protection on it, and will not play on my computer. I am not happy about this and will be returning the album. Items like this should have a warning about incompatibility with computer playback in the advert, so that we know when not to buy!

Octogenarian? Impossible! Tony Bennett teams up with current stars to delight with well-loved standards and a few which were new to me. How many times must he have sung "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" in his career? It must be in the hundreds. Yet it still comes out fresh from the Master. His duet with George Michael on "How Do You Keep the Music Playing?" shows his voice has lost nothing over the years. It brought a tear to my eye. A beautiful album.

I would like to echo all the other reviews and thank bbc radio's jazz on 3 for the tip off. i was humbled by the experience and at the price almost guilty to pay so little for such a work of art. peace. jez

I got into this one as a Winwood fan working backwards from his current material. I cannot add too much to the other reviewers comments but would echo that it's a superb work and, if you've heard other late sixties and seventies acts, you can hear how they were inspired by Traffic. One very minor gripe with this package is that a bonus track (track 4) is slotted in the middle of the main work without any explanation as to why in the sleve notes - was this track orginally pencilled for that slot on the album? I prefer to listen to such re-issues as the artist originally intended with the bonus material on the end as an option.

Whatever you are into, you've got to get this album. This is a real calm but not overly smoothe piano treat and I can't put it away.

When I was young I found this a difficult brace of albums to get into but although it didn't all turn me on immediately I always knew that there was enough in there to make it worth my while sticking at it. Once the penny dropped it all became very clear and I do still love this music. The wonderful thing about this CD version is that there is enough room to cram on both albums so that I can listen to it as a whole. There are clearly songs and pieces of music in there that I am very fond of but picking them out seems to miss the poit. The separate pieces are all part of a whole so that although I always await with anticipation of hearing "You may laugh at me, Say I don't deserve..." I would never consider isolating any of these tracks from the whole album(s) Read More:

There's more reviews on Amazon.com of course (as that's American) but i am surprised that this cd has been out ten years (1998) and only 3,(now 4) people have bothered to review it! Why? This album is five stars from start to finish. 'This cat's on a hot tin roof' is just about as exciting as a song gets. Then 'The Dirty Boogie' does for swing what Lara Croft does for 'Tomb Raider'...in other words, it was meant to be. How can anyone not say that this isn't the best version of 'Sleepwalk' ever recorded? Apart from 'BSO live in Japan'! We didn't get the 'Gap commercial' in England but apparently 2 million Americans did! Therefore 'Jump, jive and wail' became a monster hit. I have racked my brains for some time as to what the finest Sinatra album of them all is. Having listened to all but a few of them I can safely say the job gets more difficult the more you listen to. In my humble opinion I can break down his finest five into this list; "Sinatra and Strings", "September of my Years", "Sinatra and Swingin' Brass", "Moonlight Sinatra" and "Sinatra Sings For Only The Lonely". This is a debateable topic, and if something said to me "No you're wrong. Songs for Swingin' Lovers is the best", I would not argue with them, as each album holds a special place in everyone's heart for personal reasons. However there is no doubt to the musical prowess of this album. I can narrow my greatest album list to Five, but I cannot rank them in order beyond ... Read More:
