As one would expect from a member of the Buena Vista Social Club, Cachaito has produced an album of relaxing, mature music, enough to enchart and seduce even the greatest Emma Bunton fan. Wahira stands out as the romantic classic while if Anais doesn't get your foot tapping then nothing will.

This is a great CD by a bunch of fine musicians having one hell of a blast!

Recorded live in 1961, with arrangements by Al Cohn and Bill Holman, Gibbs leads the band of Hollywood players through some great tunes such as the opener 'Tico Tico' (featuring a fine solo by the tortured soul of trombonist Frank Rosolino) and others such as Parker's 'Billie's Bounce' which must be heard to be believed!

There are some great musicians here aside from the under-rated Rosolino - Al Porcino and Conte Candoli on trumpets, tenor men Richie Kamuca and Bill Perkins, alto players Joe Maini and Charlie Kennedy, as well as Mel Lewis on drums.

I love it!

This is one of my favourite CD's ever bought as it is loaded with gem after gem of brazilian bossa nova delights. Works perfectly in the summer or even winter when you need some chillout or could even be used as background music when enjoying a fine meal with some drinks. One of the best chillout albums ever!

John Coltrane's composition `Alabama' Studio Recorded November 18, 1963 - dedicated to the massacre of 4 child innocents and the injured - is elegy, prayer, appeal to sanity. Alabama's passivity weaves naked and anguished throughout a seared, dumb landscape toward the close until appeal seems finally answered by strident assertion. Elegy as catharsis with anger on hand sounds (to me) loaded in Coltrane's final four note stabbing cadence; even Jesus (reportedly) had a grain to cross...

Through dedication John Coltrane possessed the professional felicity to express his heart and feelings through his horn. That's why we love him.
