Unfashionable as it is to be a Bruce fan right now, I find it hard to imagine that the non- believers out there would fail to be blown away with the sheer energy that radiates from every track on this album.

From the dramatic opening bars of "My love will not let you down" to the sombre team delivery of "If I should fall behind" the album transports you to a time and place where you could obtain "cold beer at reasonable price & pizza for everybody"

New renditions of old classics are a revelation specifically a "plugged" version of "Youngstown" and a blistering rescue from mediocrity of "Two Hearts" and "Prove it all night"

The usual anthems ... Read More:

This is Mariah when she first hit the music world - when she could hit those BIG notes effortlessly - unfortunately unlike today. Fantastic back up band (incl American Idol Judge Randy Jackson on bass) and includes that famous duet with Trey Lorenz singing "I'll be there" by Jackson 5.

Unlike any amount of so-called pop princesses, who would be nothing without manipulative gurus behind them (and who are really not very much even then), and all those witless Pop Idol wannabees who mistake a quick track to success for honest talent, Maria McKee was - and remains - the real thing. A genuine songwriting ability - words and music - she's also a wonderful performer, and blessed with a voice that can thrill, scare and soothe by turns.

This CD is a bargain on Amazon right now, and if you've ever warbled along to 'Show Me Heaven' or enjoyed Fergal Sharkey's take on Maria's 'A Good Heart', buy this at once. It is a wonderful record of two gigs (in Manchester and Cambridge in the early 90s), when Maria showcased mostly material from her first two solo ... Read More:

In my younger days, I would fairly often buy an album quite spontaneously, and Carly Simon’s Greatest Hits Live is one of my better purchases of that type. I was familiar with a few of her songs, especially You’re So Vain, but I can’t say I was ever really a fan, so I don’t really know why I was drawn to this CD at the time I bought it. This album certainly made me a Carly fan when I listened to it, though. I love her uniquely flowing, soothing voice. Several of the tracks on this CD are immediately recognizable when you hear them: Nobody Does It Better (which served as the theme song for a James Bond movie), the aforementioned You’re So Vain, It Happens Everyday, Coming Around Again, and Anticipation. I had forgotten how great a song Anticipation ... Read More:

This is a fantastic CD. I purchased it just before seeing the very talented John Williams and John Etheridge on their recent live tour which was breath-taking. There is a variety of music styles from around the world including John William's own compositions. Enjoy!

Wednesday 25th 2006, 7:00 PM. This was when I saw Reel Big Fish at Aylesbury Civic Centre. It was the first gig I ever saw and will probably always be my most memorable. they were perfect. the energy they gave off and the quality of their performance. They made us all go crazy. Mosh pits and the whole crowd smiling. They made us sing, they made us laugh, made my friend cry, they made us angry (when they left the stage before the encore. Quote me: "Get your asses back on stage!")and they made us cheer like it was 1999 all over again. The encore kicked ass

Zoom forward 1 year. I pick up "Our live album is better than your live album". All that needs to be said lies on the cover. It was the exact same energy and quality all over again. The DVD is good quality and shows Reel ... Read More:

This album is one of the greatest live albums ever made
Every track is better live than recorded.
Train In Vain is so much better than the recorded version as are Complete Control and Career Opportunities.
4 years since Joe left us but his bands music lives on.
Theres one hell of a gig going on in heaven!

98.Other People's Lives by: Ray Davies

Music : Other People's Lives
Well, I saw Ray live last September and he played some of the tracks to be featured on this long-awaited album then, The Tourist and Stand-Up Comic amongst the set. I loved these new tracks and looked forward to the February launch, hoping that live memories wouldn't taint the album for me.

I needn't have worried. The album is spectacular. The sound is not far away from The Kinks later material, and in passion, not far away from the mid-60s work. There are songs reminiscent of the legendary Kinks Village Green album (Next Door Neighbour) as well as songs unlike any in Davies' oeuvre (Other Peoples Lives, with its Latin sound). Ray is 61 years old but still has the passion of a younger man (not to mention the voice) on tracks like After The Fall and Things Are Gonna Change. ... Read More:

99.Live: And All That It Could Have Been by: Nine Inch Nails

Thirteen years after the debut 'Pretty Hate Machine' slipped quietly onto US shelves (with estimated sales of 20,000), Nine Inch Nails release their eighth album, a no doubt multi-million shifting lavish double set in a fabric box.

All other considerations aside (the steep price tag, the increasing exploitation of a small set of original material; with a remix album for every studio set on his own label, and now a live package as well), 'And All That Could Have Been / Still' is one of the best live recordings ever officially released. The first disc, taken from the final eight US dates of the bands tour, combines excellent musicianship with a crisp, strong mix that supercedes any other NIN release.

'And All That Could Have Been' does have its flaws. The 120 minute live shows ... Read More:

nothing will ever come close to when i saw him playing live in cardiff castle but all i have is this CD to remind me how amazing he truly is live! by far the greatest performer i've seen live. this CD captures just how great he is live, but its true this is for a fan, if you ain't a big fan give it a miss and buy 'so far so good' or 'best of me'. the best tracks i think on this CD are the cover of 'i faught the law'and 'heaven'.
