What a surprise to be the first to review this ! When I spotted it at Amazon I was seduced by the bonus tracks. This really would have made it a best of-live, hadn't it been for the fact that there's nothing from my favourite album The Raven. The voice of Cornwell is on here and at its very best. There is as always the excellent rhytm section (Burnel-Black)and the Doors-alike organ of Dave Greenfield. Listen to this and you will realize that the Stranglers are really New Wave and not Punk. Highlight : Toiler on the Sea.

The fact that there are two versions of this CD, one with a bikini-clad cover girl and the original sans bikini, makes you wonder about the priorities of the Western world, doesn't it? Anyway, this is a really good live album. I've seen some people complain about the sound, but I can't hear it...it seems fine to me. If you don't own any live Stones, you won't mind the fact that songs like "Start Me Up", "Street Fighting Man", "Honky Tonk Women" and "Satisfaction" have been available live for a long time and on several different albums. I discovered Shivaree through the Kill Bill soundtrack, which had Goodnight Moon on it. Having loved that track so much in every single way and playing it over and over I had to have more. So I got the album and eagerly waited by the front door for it to come so I could get it to my CD player ASAP (seriously)! I was disappointed.. It's not that the album isn't good, it's just that Goodnight Moon is one of the best songs that I've ever heard, and being like I am, I expected the whole album to be like this. However, as I gradually played the rest of the album more and more, I've started to enjoy at least half of the tracks almost as much as Goodnight Moon. I really enjoyed this dvd, excellent music through out and the mans creative spirit is inspiring, infectious even and the art work to this edition makes the whole package feel very joyful.

Fortunately, I was at this gig at the Barowlands. I saw Big Country on numerous occassions including their support of Queen at Knebworth in August 1986, but in my opinion this was Big Country's finest hour eclipsing even their performance at the Glasgow Apollo in October 1984. Everything was just right - the band played magnificently and the Barowlands' crowd responded accordingly, and then some. My only regret is that I missed the start of the accoustic set as I was not aware Big Country were actually supporting themselves by opening with an accoustic set. In terms of the music this is a must buy if you like Big Country or if you appreciate great songs from a band that really could cut it live -2,3,4 where did the feeling go!!!!!! - well it hasn't gone and ... The Red Hot Chili Peppers have now been going 27 years and they still sound fresh and new. I copied this album of a freind of mine who went to the gig about 2 years ago and it is my most played album on Media Player, it is that good. I saw the Chili Peppers at Portman Road, Ipswich, on the first night of their Stadium Arcadium tour and they were fantastic. Any venue, any time, and they are fantastic, which is why this is a fantastic album. It starts with a catchy, funky intro from John, Flea and Chad. This follows into "Can't Stop" (just listen to the crowd cheering after the first couple of notes are played on John's guitar). Next are two classic tracks, "Scar Tissue" and "By The Way". I've never seen Radiohead live, and this gave me the opportunity to enjoy them as that. It's kind of ironic hearing the people cheer the songs that now I know and love only AFTER the song's finished because they haven't heard them before. Classic Radiohead, back in the day: good buy.

An incredible live show from an incredible band, featuring most of their biggest songs - Iris, Naked, Cuz You're Gone, Slide, Name, Two Days In February.... they're pretty much all on here. The band perform each song to perfection and even if you have previously the heard the studio versions many times before these live tracks still manage to offer something fresh whilst still being instantly recognisable. Live In Buffalo is worth every penny because not only is it a joy to listen to, it is also a 2 disc set - CD and DVD - meaning you can choose to watch the entire show or simply listen to it on your stereo.
