I am a long time Jackson Browne fan and have seen him live several times both with the band and solo. The previous solo album was an excellent effort and well worth five stars. Regrettably, this is not up to the standard of Vol.1 by any means. I don't know why, perhaps some of the tracks were just not suited to a solo performance, perhaps these weren't the best performances but this album just doesn't gel. In particular, Somebody's Baby just didn't hit the spot at all and nor even did the usually excellent All Good Things. I was particularly disappointed by the rendition of "In the shape of a heart" which was just not as good as I remember it from the acoustic tour a couple of years ago. On balance, I would have to ... Fantastic DVD of what might be called his greatest hits concert. Not a poor song anywhere in sight. I particularly like 'Awake' and 'Remember When It Rained' and the 'duet' of Lucia Micarelli (violin) and Vanessa Fairburn Smith (cello) performing 'Kashmir' - absolutely stunning!! Pour yourself a drink and chill: again and again and again ...ALL FOR LESS THAN £8!!!

Live Songs is one of Cohen's early classics and should be part of every fan's collection. Please Don't Pass Me By with its spoken introduction is harrowing, Passing Through ("glad that I ran into you") is delicate and yearning and Tonight Will Be Fine is unsettlingly erotic. There is an intensity here that complements the studio versions very well, a side of early Cohen that fans will miss out on if they don't own this album. Some of this rawness later manifested on the Phil Spector-produced Death Of A Ladies Man to the consternation of many of Cohen's fans, but it was always a part of his musical make-up, as this album demonstrates. In some ways, Angels Of Light's album New Mother reminds me of the mood of Live Songs.

Great present from husband,(Mr. G. Lewis) really enjoyed the mix of songs. What a voice this man has got.

After listening to the River off this album in my mates car I decided to buy my first springsteen record. Im now a avid fan of the great man . Most of his classics are on the these 3 CD's . From the haunting tracks like Thunder road and Racing in the streets to rocking classics like Born to run and Rosalita. If theres only one album you get then it sould be this one

I was a Queen fan back in the 1970's up until around 1975/6. I drifted away from listening to them as they drifted away from rock towards the pop genre. On the basis of this album Queen are once again rock giants, Paul Rogers breathes much needed new life into the repertoire and it's great to see Brian May with a smile on his face again. Ignore the detractors and spoilers, this is the best line up Queen have had.

This is an album which captures a performer at the absolute zenith of his achievement. Morrsion is in complete control of a large and highly competent band and milks his power to the nth degree, changing pace at will and spontaneously with a flick of his hand behind his back as he growls his invocation to soul in a way he has never bettered. There are great cover versions given the celtic soul treatment, such as "Bring It All On Home" and "I Just Wanna Make Love To You". Alongside sit magnificent, innovatory treatments of Morrison classics such as "Into The Mystic", "St. Dominic's Preview" and a simply stunning version of "Caravan", embellished by sumptuous saxophone from Jack Schroer and vibrant, beautiful violin from Nathan Ribble. There are so many great tracks on this album that this could easily be a best of! The unplugged format is perfect for Neil Young and really shows his songs off in their best light and his voice goes just perfectly with acoustic guitar. This is where I began my love of Neil Young and I really believe it is a great starting point in his music and style before delving deeper into his other albums. A great album.

Wow! This guy is almost as good as Hendrix - and he's almost as good as Stevie Ray - and he does covers of some pretty good songs just as well as quite a few great players I've heard over the last 40 years - but....he doesn't bring anything new to the table. So what's the point?

Is Slane the greatest concert film ever? Though this is for you and you alone to decide you'll be able to tell two minutes into the show when John Frusciante literally rips the Irish air into shreds. In the concert intro, Frusciante pulls some of the most awesome notes known to man from the strings of his electric guitar. It is absolutely unreal to watch and listen to what he can do with that guitar, as he takes his trademark sound to new heights and defines guitar heroics for you right in your own home.
