This concert is outstanding, both visually and musically. I like to see a performer perform on stage, and it is fantastic to see someone like Peter Gabriel really entertain, making great use of props, gadgets and special effects.

It is clear to see that all the performers on stage are savouring the experience and it is contagious even to the viewer. All songs are performed beautifully and it is a great piece of musical history to own.

The only reason it does not have the full five stars is the quality of the picture. A shame, but it does not spoil the overall effect.

Certainly a must for any Gabriel fan, and I can only imagine that it would be an enjoyable experience for a non-fan too.

Having heard Live Plus Five, I had a good idea of what to expect from this CD as the set list was similar having been recorded about a year later.
A mixed bag, and I agree with the negative and positive reviews of the album.
Yes, the vocals are strained at times and the harmonies a bit wobbly. Yes there are times when the mellotron goes wobbly (either that or the master tape is at fault. I think it's the mellotron though!)
The sound quality is alright but not pristine.
and yet. . . and yet. . .
Where this scores over the later live albums of the 1990's and 2002 is that this captures the Moodies at a time when they were at their creative peak and the songs were new and fresh (the oldest songs here were only 3 years old at ... Read More:

Stage and Glass spider are two later Bowie live albums but this is the first and best.
Bowie goes through all the songs in fine form and great voice. Its great to hear classics like Space oddity done live aswell as the under rated All the young dudes, a track which hardly ever appears on Bowie compilation albums.
Lead single Knock on wood is another excellent track and overall this is a 5 star album.

There is nothing to be said. Why re-issue stuff that we really do not need? Some believed in free love and respect, others just took the drugs. Here, they just take your money.

For a while the most bootlegged rock record of all. When this was released in 1998 I rushed out and bought it immediately. I had an old cassette recording that somebody had copied from somebody else from a bootleg LP. So at least 3rd hand and thought I would never see the day that Dylan allowed this to be issued properly.

I'm not going to talk about the recordings, as other reviewers have already covered these in ample detail. The CD's (2) are well packaged with a 54 page booklet which gives you a lot of information into the background and history of these recordings. As a leftfield starter the booklet mentions the famous 1913 Stravinsky performance of "The Rite of Spring" which caused a riot. Despite this excellent packaging its the recordings that will grab you by ... Read More:

Okay, if you like Robbie Williams then the chances are you will enjoy this DVD although like me you may be dissapointed. The performances are exactly what you would expect from Robbie and of themselves each song is performed well, however, I do have 2 criticisms of this DVD, both in relation to how the performaces have been edited. Firstly, there is no chronological or geographical order to each song e.g. the songs flit from one concert venue to another and from one year to another and back again making the whole thing seem disjointed - and unless you were there you will have little idea which venue each performance is at(okay the castle in the background of some shots is a give away for Slane) and the sleeve notes don't help much as there is no song listing and the order in which the ... People say that live songs are always better than album versions and this album really proves that. Great acts like Alanis Morrisette, Eric Clapton and Bryan Adams all feature in this outstanding album. A smooth CD to chill out to in the evenings or on a hot summers afternoon. The very best performances come from Seal with Kiss From A Rose, which sounds incredible and is so moving. Secoindly theres Noel Gallagher singing Don't Look Back in Anger, Liam sings this on Whats the Story but Noel has the better voice and this track really shows it off. Buy this album now and chill.

[...]Seriously though, if you are a fan of Black Cherry and/or Felt Mountain (or even Goldfrapps latest offerings on Supernature) you will surely love this DVD.

A good handful of the tracks are previously unreleased and make the DVD worth the money just for that, but when you take into account that it's a double disk affair then how can you say no!? :)

From the idyllic tranquility of utopia and lovely head, to the rock chic stomping that can only be found with train and strict machine when performed live, this is by far the best live act I have seen in recent years.
