You build up a record collection only for another piece of technology to come along and make it all obsolete!!! I started collecting Bobby Bland records! around the time "The California Album" came out. I can't remember where I heard it, but I was just hooked after hearing "This time I'm gone for good". The "Dreamer" album which followed convinced me that here was a voice like no other. I went back and bought examples from his back catalogue (some real gems) and continued to buy everything he released for at least the next 15 years. I bought some real cheesy albums! But on every album there was always one, possibly two tracks worth the awful album covers or some really unsuitable cover Bobby B had decided to do (e.g. Somewhere over the rainbow). ... Read More:

All but one of the tracks are written by by Dr John and the sadly missed Doc Pomus with Fathead Newman and Hank Crawford on sax and all are tremendous. The arrangements on such as The Victim and Born Again Human are outstanding. King plays blindingly throughout with passion grace and fire (as they say). Consistent brilliance, its just too damn short. Buy.
