One of the greatest albums of the decade and most certainly one of the greatest works ever to be captured on CD! Undoubtedly Enya's greatest moment which she can never hope to better - but only ever hope to match. She manages to capture every emotion here - and every tempo. A masterpiece where Enya reaches perfection in the extreme. This also includes her greatest single ever (that ironically did not chart - and there goes the British Public for you again! Shame on you!!) in 'Wild Child'. It is one of those songs reminiscent of the days when singles would be bought and played over and over again 'til they were worn out! Each track is perfectly placed, and clearly much thought has gone into this arrangement. There's not a single ... Read More:

Listen to the CD - then read the book. Once you've got Keillor's voice in your head, you'll never read his books the same way again. Gentle humour about growing up in Lake Wobegon, the town the map-makers missed (yes, it's in Mist County). Carefully observed detail, related with love (and occasionally impatience). Yes, this is small-town America, and eventually Keillor escaped to the big city. These are the memories of his childhood.

This is a great album and probably my favorite from Brian Eno. It has that dreamy music that is from out of this world. Good for use in trance work and healing sessions in general, as relaxes client and therapist alike. As with much New Age music, this one in particular is timeless.

Victor Borge was a unique performer, combining the skills of a concert pianist with the timing and insights of a great comedian. Always impeccable, the complete gentleman, Borge's was a sophisticated, intelligent humour, humane and humanistic, though not without teeth - acerbic, witty, fast, but delivered with a voice which is as warm and silky as a glass of Drambuie. A Dane, he escaped ahead of the Nazi invasion and settled in the USA, rapidly becoming an adopted son ... and quickly establishing a role as an international treasure. He made regular appearances on British television in the 1950's, 60's, and 70's, and his comic routines were regularly played on the radio. Borge was part of my childhood, and I'm sure his memory is cherished by many ... Read More:

I grew up in England and we had this compilation on cassettes. Listening to the songs again brings me back to my childhood.

Great, classic English songs that are fun to listen to even as an adult! They clearly have a lasting effect, seeing as I listened to these songs when I was 4 years old, and am now 18.

I would definitely recommend buying this.

Have just bought this cd and it is excellent. From the outset the song Rebirthing is a real classic. Hard rock at its best. The cd really doesn't have a poor track throughout. They are a Christian band with positive lyrics which is refreshing considering some of the doom and gloom around nowadays. Buy, you won't regret.

I remember back in the days of LP, I had a huge Philips box containing this Dutchman, Tannhauser and the Knappertsbusch Parsifal from the 1960's. I concur with other reviewers that it is a pity Universal Classics has chosen the inferior Levine Parsifal for inclusion here, but the Tannhauser and Dutchman are the same performances conducted by Sawallisch. This time around, Universal adds Mastersinger, Lohengrin, Tristan and a complete Ring! Parsifal excepted, it is still a worthwhile set to have. Overall, all the other performances are fine. The Parsifal is simply bogged down by Levine's conducting. The Sawallisch Dutchman is immediate and gripping, vividly conducted. Silja sings so much better here than she did for Klemperer in the same opera on EMI. You ... Read More:

Frankly, anyone who buys a CD of music from the City of Prague Philharmonic expecting it to comprise of originals is either short-sighted or panning the orchestra just for the sake of it. It's like criticising your local orchestra for not being the London Phil or the Skywalker Symphony - you can enjoy the music regardless.

Are these tracks original? No. Are they very good representations? Absolutely. I've had countless hours of enjoyment from this CD and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to those listeners who want a good mix of TV themes from all genres or are looking for one of the more obscure TV themes.
