Finally, a CD I can drift off to sleep with! I've tried quite a few but they didn't help slow down my stressed out brain at night as this one does. The beautiful melodies on this CD have a lovely calming effect on my poor head sending me off to sleep feeling relaxed and happy. No jarring instruments and nothing too deep and moody, just gently played, lighthearted, tranquil melodies - works a treat!

You don't get much for your money with this EP but what you do get is quality from the get go to the let go. If you've never heard Flight of the Conchords before this CD makes an excellent (if slightly pricey) introduction to the funniest novelty folk duo on the planet. If you've already got the HBO TV series, buy the BBC radio series before you get this. It's almost as good as the TV show and you get a lot of Conchords for your money. But do buy this, it's just as good as anything else the Conchords have done and if you loved them on TV or on the radio you won't want to miss out.

what a fantasic album. i first heard of the penguin cafe orchestra on irelands classic radio whilst on holiday there. on my return home i bought a copy of "a brief history" and my ears have been truly treated. if you have heard anything by the pco but dont own any of their stuff, but like this sort of music then take the plunge you wont regret it and just like me treat your ears.

This is a concept first thought of by Eric Satie with his "wallpaper" music, but only properly realised by the unsung, under-appreciated and absolute genius that is Brian Eno. This is music you can do anything to - go through customs; paint the ceiling; wash the car. Don't think, just enjoy. If you think you haven't heard anything by Eno think again. A ridiculous proportion of the really great albums issued since the early seventies have had some sort of input from him. This disc was a birthday present from a friend. I'll leave aside the issue of what kind of friend purchases a requiem for a birthday present, but I think it's important to say that I had not consciously listened to any of Karl Jenkins's music before I was given this CD. I understand that there is a kind of snobbery concerning the popular Jenkins - the Oxford Concise Dictionary of Music briskly moves non-stop from the seventeenth-century cavalier composer John Jenkins to US conductor Newell Jenkins - so there may be something in this, but listening to this CD made it clear that Karl Jenkins certainly has talent. Two old blokes swear a lot. You certainly need to brace yourself for this, it is truely disgusting but also funny and liberating. There is no check on political correctness but on the other hand they do not pick on anyone or group in particular, everybody gets it without prejudice.
