You often find albums and even compilation albums have some dud on them, but this is what it say, Number 1s there are some really dodgy ones but they made it to the top, this is a brilliant album, and is hours of entertainment! One of my best buys!

By no means all Diana's great love songs but those included are pretty good. Does include her first solo No1 "I'm Still Waiting" & some later hits such as "Endless Love" but so many hits are missing (like "Touch Me In The morning" that I think you can get better value elsewhere. Nice though.

The Definitive Collection, we all know its another collection of supremes hits and it should be by now able to put a different twist on the way its done' but the songs are what made the girls the best that there was and no other girl droup will ever come close to the supremes,they may try but have no hope. so if you dont have this cd do add it to your collection it is just a joy to play and listen to, the booklet that comes with this is also worth a good read, pics are great and some you may not have seen for a while. go get it and see why the girls are the best.

I disagree with the previous reviewer, these book sets are marvelous. I have several and keep them with my Vinyl (Yes I still keep Vinyl). If you want a CD Box set, there is an alternative version from Motown, with an identicle track listing. This book set is the same price but includes a lavish hard back book with a wealth of information & history. The music is what counts and the music here is consistently excellent and is an comprehensive history of the artist that is Stevie Wonder - Highly Recommended

The group had been around since the fifties, but it was only after they joined Motown that they became successful. The first album, simply titled Four Tops, yielded three American hits –Baby I need your loving, Without the one you love and Ask the lonely. All three singles were released in the UK but none charted. The Fourmost covered Baby I need your loving and had a British hit with it. The next album, with the equally unoriginal title Second Album, also yielded three American hits, but they were much bigger hits. The album opens with I can’t help myself, which topped the charts and provided them with their first British hit. The lyrics are slightly silly but the song has an irresistible, infectious beat. Smokey Robinson was once described by Bob Dylan as "the greatest living poet". That is certainly nothing of an understatement and Smokey Robinson was one of the most richly talented singer/songwriter/producers at Tamla Motown Records. Smokey Robinson gave Berry Gordy the initial ammunition for forming Tamla Motown Records and was also partly responsible for bringing the great Diana Ross to his attention, who was a close friend of Smokey's and indeed Smokey ended up having a short-lived affair with Diana, even though he was married to Claudette Robinson at the time. Seemingly all but forgotten by most people, this is actually a great collection! Diana sings really well - the production has her voice well to the fore & sounds clear & bell like at times. The whole CD is enjoyable to listen to, with a good variety of songs all of which could be described as 'soulful', which can't be said of all MS Ross's work. If you've ever liked her solo work you should really enjoy this album. My favourite tracks were all (I think) released as singles in the UK & all did OK. When You Tell Me That You Love Me One Shining Moment If We Hold On Together For the money an absolute bargin & essential buy for any Diana Ross fans.
