This has been going around my stereo for the last six weeks which means it can't be at all bad. Infact once you get past the cover, which I thought resembled the set off of Teletubbies, there's some good stuff here. Catchy tunes and introspective poetry in abundance. Opener 'Light Nights' has that 'Wickerman' soundtrack feel to it and works well as an intro track, before '22 Dreams' kicks in like a brass heavy soultrain to throw you completely off the scent. Singles 'Have You Made Up Your Mind' and 'All I Wanna Do' are simply structured pop songs with those catchy little riffs that Weller and his band of choice always seem to capture so effortlessly. I have just got the box set recently, and have been enjoying it greatly. Not just that, my three daughters aged 9, 6 and 2 are great fans, and want to listen to it all the time in the car. And the two-year-old even says 'Rock' once she hears the first few bars of 'We will rock you'. Just goes on to show that Queen truly made ageless music, which still scores far above most contemporary music.

The original and the best ABBA. Nobody can rerelease/rerecord these songs to make them better. Includes classics featured in Mamma Mia! the movie but the original is definitely the best in this case.

this is a brilliant album i hate when people keep going on about its not old biffy they still have there obscure brilliance please stop it becuase you are being to critical this album is AMAZING!!!!

..is the only word for this album. I have never heard such a pure voice - you may have heard the songs before but you have never heard them sung like this. Eva's voice was unique - how very sad that the only video in existence of her singing is some amatuer footage taken at Blues Alley - where some of these tracks were recorded. If you can listen to "Autumn Leaves" without a lump in your throat - then you have no soul my friend.

Randy's back...prowling his constituency with laser wit, astringency and poignancy; delivering three minute vignettes of the present American landscape that make you wince, laugh and cry. A master craftsman in iron control of his material. With Randy back it certainly "Feels like Home."

All i say is that this is quite possibly the most perfect, surreal movie ever created. Me and my friend Stephen Kane sat and watched it seven times and never got bored. We know all the songs and the words "What time is iiiitt??" I 100% recommend this movie, it made my life.

For all its world-conquering success, ABBA Gold didn't really "rehabilitate" ABBA. The casual track sequencing and the choice of only the biggest hits means that a lot of good stuff was missed. The kitsch that dogged the early part of ABBA's career seems to be reinforced. With The Definitive Collection, however, you get (a) all of the tracks that appear on Gold, (b) plus the additional gems that couldn't be included on Gold, and (c) very elegant packaging. That Mr Vernon-Iver should have entitled one of the nine extraordinary songs on this weirdly wonderful album 'Wolves (Act1 & Act2)' would alone have been enough to have caught my attention had not our dear friends at Amazon also kindly included it in their increasingly astute recommendations for me. Isolation is a privilege. Few of us, whether we chose to or not, have the opportunity to be completely alone. The world will not let us unless we find that rare opening to some small space where we might rehearse being ourselves entirely. (Or failing that at least borrow a little time for self-reflection).
