I see less of comparison with Joy Division than with the also-rans of the 80s big overcoat scene such as The Chameleons though without their originality. For a few minutes the debut album offered something to people who might be missing JD, early Bunnymen and The Sound but with the second they merely come across as lightweight carbon copies of.. Interpol. But I guess at least they dont sound like all the rest of the current crop of tousle haired indie clones.

Now I am of the opinion that greatest hits/Best of CD's should only be released at the end of a bands career and be a much larger album 2 discs minimum possibly more. The only acceptance of this is after a huge event such as the death of a band member, where you could release a best of in their memory and to show their contribution to the band. Now Bon Jovi's release is a mystery to me as there was no real reason to release one other than to make money as far as I am concerned. This doesn't mean the album is bad because every song contained is brilliant but it misses out some essential songs that within this kind of Bon Jovi release should not be left out, but there still is no point for its release. What an amazing album from Elbow. It really has got the lot. Instrumentally it is fantastic, the lyrics are witty, subtly clever. Just a great listen that improves with regular listens. Definitely an album to listen to from start to finish. You really need all the tracks, so if you're thinking of downloading just a couple of songs please think again.

High School Musical is being talked about by teenager's everywhere, so I was determined to see what it was like. I asked someone I knew (who is obsessed with it) If I could borrow their copy of the soundtrack - And now I wish I hadn't. For staters the actual music is just over-used up beat dance tracks. With some weak mordern R and B thrown in. The things kicks of with a song entitled "Start of Something New". The song is merely just a badly written, horribly sang pop song. The vocals are very poor, there are signs of lack of emotion (in all the tracks). The second one, which is more of an R and B tune, is well irritating. The whole trainers squeeking in the back ground is simply annoying beyond beliefe. The "Gota getcha getcha getcha head in the game" just proves ... Read More:

Not as enduring or magical as the soundtrack for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, but then again this is a completely different type of film that he was composing for. JLS was more of a spiritual journey which was perfectly complimented in the music, whilst Jazz Singer is more of a commercial movie of a "Boy Done Good" scenario. Personally, I preferred the songs on JLS, or should I say his genre of music, less anthemic, which probably isn't a word, and more beautifully crafted. However you can't argue with success, and there have been enough hits pulled off this album to back up any argument against it. I have been looking forward to the release of this cd and it doesnt disappoint!!! Theres the odd rubbish track but then i have come to expect that from compilation cds!!! The track listing on here is wrong, there are only 42 tracks on 2 cds-not sure where the listing above has come from!!! This is a definite must have for the summer-its certainly coming with me on holiday this year!!

Has much has i Like Dolly Parton, I do wonder how many more times are her managers going to release her Greatest Hits & Best Of Albums. I think she should come back and do something New!! I brought Dolly Partons Greatest Hits back in 1999 The Album i have is a 2x Disc version With the same songs and same listings in the exact same track listing order has these 2 seperate Albums!! Why it has been Re-released has two seperate Volumes is beyond me, Especially when the version i have is still avalible to buy. I have given this a 4 Star if it was a New greatest hits it would have got a 5 Star, However it isn't. And plus it's not Dolly's thought i blame the record company!!! :-)

I have only seen glimpses of the TV series, but no matter. This a wonderfully silly album combining very witty lyrics, with accurately observed pastiches of every genre of music. The standout track initially is "It's partytime", in which a self-delusional "luvvaman" serenades his "wo'man". It's the last time I'll ever try to seduce my wife wearing just my black socks! The other tracks bear repeated listening, and the joys of the wonderfully crafted lyrics are soon to be relished and enjoyed. BUY IT!
