I must admit that I've not submitted a review - up to now. I felt I must, after reading some of the previous reviews for this album. I first heard this album, pre-release, at the Hot Topic store in the Houston Galleria. All I recall thinking is "make a note and BUT THIS ALBUM!" I only heard the first 3 tracks, but decided to buy it anyway as soon as it was released. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! This is a fantastic album. Each song IS INDIVIDUAL in my opinion and there's not one that I don't like. There are always going to be stand-out tracks on good albums, but that's not to say the other tracks aren't good. I think that EVERY track on this album is great. My personal favourites are "Deceiver" and "Indestructible", which are very catchy, but I never ... Read More:

Has much has i Like Dolly Parton, I do wonder how many more times are her managers going to release her Greatest Hits & Best Of Albums.
I think she should come back and do something New!!

I brought Dolly Partons Greatest Hits back in 1999 The Album i have is a 2x Disc version With the same songs and same listings in the exact same track listing order has these 2 seperate Albums!! Why it has been Re-released has two seperate Volumes is beyond me, Especially when the version i have is still avalible to buy.

I have given this a 4 Star if it was a New greatest hits it would have got a 5 Star, However it isn't. And plus it's not Dolly's thought i blame the record company!!! :-)

This album is highly recommended to people that enjoy Urban music with that added extra energy. I heard a few of the tracks before the album came out and I was loving all of them. After watching the film - I just had to get the album, all of the tracks are very good. However, there were a few tracks missing, which I thought should've been on the album such as Timbaland - Bounce (I have his album so that was ok) and Swizz Beatz - Money in the Bank (both featured in the final dance scene).

The tracks that stood out for me were Flo Rida's Low, Missy's Ching-a-Ling, Cherish's Killa, T-Pain's Church, Plies - Hypnotize and KC's Say Cheese. The rest of the tracks are great and you will definately enjoy the album.

The first single from this album, The Winner Takes It All, is considered one of the group's best songs. It returned them to the top of the UK singles charts after an absence of two and a half years and six near-misses. The album itself, coming on the back of Abba's immensely successful 1979 tour, was a massive hit and broke records in advanced orders.

However, the rest of the album just doesn't live up to the promise of the first single. A new maturity was evident, with lyrics becoming more personal, but there are more fillers than classics here. I'm not a fan of the dreadful title track, despite the fact it was their last UK Number 1. Me and I and The Way Old Friends Do are also not up to Abba's high standards. Other than The Winner ... I was introduced to Amy Winehouse when I finally purchased Back to Black months after the CD had been released. After hearing "You Know I'm No Good" and "Rehab", I still didn't know what to expect from the entire CD, so I decided to wait until a friend of mine finally convinced me to buy it. The CD had an old school feel to it and my favorite tracks ended up being "Back To Black", "Tears Dry On Their Own", "Me & Mrs. Jones", "Love Is A Losing Game" and "Rehab". I was seacrhing for music one day on amazon and I found out that she was
re-relasing a CD that she had previously released overseas in 2003 entitled "Frank".

The CD gets off to a nice start with the track "Stronger Than Me". Amy speaks about a courtship where while she is 7 years younger, ... Read More:

The first 2 times I played the album, I burst into tears on each occasion.
There is something in this music which I can't farthom why it does that to me. It is a unique experience which makes me feel more motivated to be alive.

There's a lot to like about this album. kd's voice is beyond reproach, and she keeps things smooth and restrained throughout, which I like, never approaching the 'Constant Wailing' that marrs some of her work. This is just personal preference of course, but I definitely prefer the more laid-back kd.
Production is good too, and the backings are lush and interesting, somewhat reminiscent of 'Ingenue' at times, but this is no bad thing. It really is a very musical album. Almost easy listening, you could say.
If there's a problem for me, it's that none of the songs really stand out from each other. It's almost like it's the same song all the way through. Mostly it's quite a good song, thankfully, but everything does blur into a musical melange. Which of course may have ... Read More:

A genuine breath of fresh air against the British hip-hop and grime scenes that have gone right up their own backsides in an orgy of self-congratulation and vanity.

Scroobius Pip's lyrics are insightful, thoughtful, and intelligent, yet still catchy. He talks about himself in honest terms and is happy not to be the centre of attention as well. He graciously namechecks a few other respected rappers like Mos Def but ploughs his own furrow and is one of the only rappers at the moment who is actually worth listening to.

The music's slick as well, clever and subtle use of samples. If I had one criticism, it would be that because the lyrics are the centrepiece of the album, sometimes the music takes too much of a back-seat and becomes a bit repetitive. It means ... Read More:
