Like many of the other reviewers, I bought this because I'd heard so much about the band. At a first listening I felt it had potential, though it didn't immediately grab me. After several more listenings I have decided it's actually a touch on the pretntious side, not to mention a little dull. Very disappointing.

I often see and hear people go on about how 'Hed Kandi aren't the same anymore', or are 'too commercial' now. You know what? I don't know (or care) if that's true. But what I DO know is what sounds good, and Hed Kandi's Summer Mix 2008 SOUNDS GOOD! This CD defines summer for me, it's full of summer anthems, some commercial, some not so much, but it all blends together for a near perfect mix of summer house tunes. There's 3 different styles of house (Twisted Disco, Disco Kandi and Disco Heaven) within this collection, my personal favourite being the first CD, because I love the dirtier side of house. If you're a fan of dance or house in general, get this CD. It's perfect music for a BBQ!

This album has some wonderful moments - it is what you'd expect and more from David and his crew. Aldrich does a wonderful job on guitars and I really do not understand what some of the more negative people were expecting. This is a Whitesnake album in every sense of the word, without too much influence from the comtemporary rock scene (and better for it). More albums please Mr. Coverdale...

the album is definitely better than the show, which in my opinion is just a big panto, idina menzel thankfully sounds better on the album than she ever did on stage in london, kerry ellis showed how it should be done, and i think they should release the london cast version, if you want camp cheesy songs that are badly edited then buy the album, but after youve seen the show you will realise that the album misses some very important plotlines, and songs dont make as much sense as they do when you see the show,

'The Red Album' is weezer's masterpiece so far. Don't let it fool you that the opener 'Troublemaker' is an archetype of the dynamic and melodic power rock known so well from earlier releases, 'cause what follows adds new and surprising dimensions to weezer's style. I usually try to be cool, focused and objective in my reviews but, for Laura Marling's debut album, I'll make an exception. 'Cool, focused and objective' can all take a backseat while their more emotional cousin 'dribbly wide-eyed adoration' takes the wheel, puts his foot down and heads for the sunlit hills. "Alas I Cannot Swim" is gorgeous, clever, moving and absolutely packed with the most exquisite melodies. If there has been a better album released in the past twelve months then, well, I for one haven't heard it. Absolutely everything works in harmony on this album. After the master blasting of previous CDs I found this collection very disappointing. Unless you like pop rock or country and western, you'll feel pretty cheated. Where is the heavy rock, the hip hop ? Bring it back.

This album is undoubtedly a cut above the unnecessarily huge number of indie pop albums being churned out at the moment. The songs are instant hits with catchy melodies and energetic music to back them up. After a few listens though, and a massive amount of radio airplay, what remains is a collection of tunes you're a little bit sick of. The standout tune for me is Creepin' Up The Backstairs, the only track inventive enough to keep me wanting to listen weeks after I bought the album.
