This album is undoubtedly a cut above the unnecessarily huge number of indie pop albums being churned out at the moment. The songs are instant hits with catchy melodies and energetic music to back them up. After a few listens though, and a massive amount of radio airplay, what remains is a collection of tunes you're a little bit sick of. The standout tune for me is Creepin' Up The Backstairs, the only track inventive enough to keep me wanting to listen weeks after I bought the album.

My god, when will they stop this?! I know it's unfair to compare, but with 'Smash', Offspring really created something that was unique, insightful yet FUN. Then with Ixnay they manged to replicate that (almost) and even turn slightly serious with 'Gone Away'. From then onwards something weird has happened. Pretty Fly, O. Prankster and Hit That are 3 of the worst songs ever connected to a punk band. It's not that they're catchy or cheesy, they simple show how commerical and polished the Offspring have become. This album contains about 6 different Snare Drum sounds alone. Stick a mic in front of it, plug in to an 8 track and record. THAT'S ALL YOU NEED GUYS! Totally amazing, one of the greatest albums ever made. Dark, brooding, with awesome scratching, beautiful and unsettling singing and, in my opinion, superior to Dummy. Love driving at night or smoking at home to this absolute classic. You'd be a fool not to hear it.

Many Panic! fans and haters are dismissing this as something they did not expect from the band that released "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" 3 years ago. I was a fan of old Panic! and am now a massive fan of new Panic too. This album has a beautiful sound and atmosphere to it. This album definitely has influences from The Beatles. I doubt many teens are listening to The Beatles, so this is a really nice way of introducing it to people today. This is definitely a very brave direction for Panic to take, I think they deserve a lot more respect for such a massive change in their sound, and I love it. Apart from the re-recordings identified in other reviews here, I am certain that Duane Eddy's "Rebel Rouser" falls into that category - DESPITE being credited to Jamie Records [his original label] on the sleeve. Also Sandy Nelson's Teen Beat seems to contain extraneous "live" noises - possibly overdubbed onto the original studio - & "hit" version. Given that EMI are listed as being involved in the compilation, why could they not include the original - an undeniably superior, Columbia [therefore EMI] recordings rather than the far-too-widely available re-recordings. Very disappointed overall - the TITLE listing looked great, but the whole thing spoiled by sloppy research & track info : Brian Berg - is credited - perhaps there should be a substitution to the final ... Hearing Sigur Ros for the first time , as most of us did when hearing Agaetis byrjun, is akin, i imagine , to not just hearing music beamed down from another planet but hearing music beamed across from the far side of a far distant galaxy. The sort of thing Star Trek "Voyager" might have heard on their sojourn through the delta quadrant.( the cover , featuring a ballpoint pen drawing by a friend of the band further ratifies the music's alien ambience) The nearest comparison, and i realise that i am being far from being original here, are The Cocteau Twins , though even their celestial otherworldliness does,nt really compare to the Icelandic quartet. La mejor recopilacion de uno de los mejores grupos de todos los tiempos, y todas las canciones ordenadas de forma cronologica, y un folleto donde se resume muy bien toda su historia, con muchas fotos de todas sus etapas de modo que uno puede ir siguiendo toda su trayectoria como grupo musical; las canciones, simplemente INCREIBLES, desde la sencilla "RING, RING" hasta canciones mas complicadas como "THE WINNER TAKES IT AT ALL"; sin faltar piezas inolvidables como "CHIQUITITA", "I DO I DO I DO", "WATERLOO", "DANCING QUEEN" y "TAKE A CHANCE ON ME"; incluso hay canciones que yo no conocia, como "HONEY HONEY", "ONE OF US" y "PEOPLE NEED LOVE", muy buenas tambien; SIMPLEMENTE LO MEJOR!!!
